Ironically the PAP didn't like the 7.62x25 for hostage situations because it over penetrates flesh easily and might hit civilians in the area. Remember that most cases of armed criminals in China only have knives with the occasional gun in the past, with no body armour so over penetration is a real concern. They do like the accuracy of the Type 79 though, so if anything, they are definitely not sourcing or developing AP rounds.Is there any report of its performance in real firefights or engagements?
