I know everybody is very excited about all the new gadgets and weapons at Zhuhai this year but, if anybody is interested, I have some dull news. The old Type 81 continues it's love affair with the civilian Canadian firearms market, with the new Canada-only 'Type 81 SR' which came out last month. The Type 81 SR is a modified Type 81 in a 'DMR-style' Dragunov (really more PSL like tbh) stock, a heavier 520mm chrome-lined barrel, a threaded barrel and a improved, adjustable trigger. All in the intermediate 7.62x39mm round. While I know many Canadians would have liked the CS/LR14, this is probably the closest Canadians can get to owning an SVD for the foreseeable future. I know this isn't technically 'PLA Small Arms' but they are 'PLA-based Small Arms'.
