That sight is way too high above the barrel. It is An additional 2-3" above iron sights which is already fairly high up.
Then it'll require that major mod kit to replace the upper with a flushed top rail and side-mounted charging handle. You may see the PAP and police SWAT outfits have them but certainly not the PLA.

For the QBU88s in the image below, the bipods are no longer attached to the barrels; they have instead been attached to the handguard, where they should have been in the first place.

Actually they can probably screw some pic rails onto the hand guard between the carrying handle and front sight post and they will be able to mount red dots and holographics in a co-witness or lower 1/3 position.

It’s not uncommon for shooters to mount 1x optics with unlimited eye relief pretty far forward of the rifle.

You trade off a little accuracy for better situational awareness, which I think would actually work quite well wit the Type 95.

Either that or like what @plawolf said: add a canted sight to the handguard. However, aside from the situational awareness issue, other issues with the canted sight include the added bulkiness of the rifle and the odd way you have to hold it which would limit your motion.

If that's a modification rolled out in general issue, that may mean the QBU88 now have free-floating barrel; if paired with proper precision ammo, the whole "Type 88 shotgun" meme may finally become a thing of the past.

Of course, the scope's MOA is another issue to tackle, though the effort to render may better off go to replace the whole thing with more QBU-191 instead.

The new bipod seems to be 'general issue', most likely as a remedial measure to further improve the QBU88, as the image below indicates it's also been introduced to the PAP. How widespread this will become is anyone's guess. I'm not sure if the new bipod implies a free-floating barrel though. As for accuracy, I have been seeing QBU88s with upgraded scopes for sometime now, starting with the PAP. Again, I refer you to the image below.
