Note the airborne trooper in the foreground is sporting an aftermarket upper. This new upper does not make this a new rifle. I repeat, a new upper does not a new rifle make. This is still the QBZ-95G and not a failed attempt at another assault rifle.
Thanks for the photos of the new PLA submachine gun. However, I don't think it is a variant of the BJC16. To me, it looks more like CS/LS7 derivative (without the Picatinny rail under barrel). For example, note the four small elongated ventilation holes, the same as at CS/LS7, but not present at BJC16. Also, the ejector window and overall receiver design is much more similar to CS/LS7.
