His channel is pretty solid. Perhaps you would care to answer the question: are Chinese tanks particularly vulnerable to penetration from side attacks due to lack of any observable armour modules on the sides
well it seems like one reason chinese tanks dont have side armor is because they sacrifice protection for mobility, and not just on the battlefield. The PLA is quite fond of trains and so their tanks need to fit on them. Any meaningful amount of side protection would protrude quite a bit, and while it wouldnt make transport impossible, it would make it more of a hassle than it should already be.

It should of course be possible to fit side armour at the destination I would think?

Another reason is that side armour increases weight which leads to greater fuel use and wear and tear on the engine, so not used in peacetime as a cost saving measure?
