not sure if its relivent. Do PLA have basic english language proficiency requirement ? someone in a squad with a basic english communication skill will be very helpful for various mission. Especially while interacting with foreigners. In one of the border disput with India, PLA personnel communicating with Indian was totally clueless. similar thing while communicating with US pilot at SCS. PLA officer was talking in broken english with very heavy chinese accent. a good communication skill can be helpful in diffusing hot situation.
I would support something like this, but not for diffusing situations. The reason for it is because threats are more menacing when delivered with correct grammar and pronunciation. It removes the comedic element of a heavy accent. I expect China will have real-time translation and speech AIs soon enough and this issue will be moot.

I can just imagine an AI sprouting "You're in Chinese territorial waters, leave immediately" in that demonic tiktok female robot voice...

Does anyone knows what are those tanks? seems to me that there are two types of tanks in these photos.

Look like Type 99's to me, Type 96A has certain distinguishing features, it can be more difficult to tell since the latter have camouflage.
