This may not be as glamorous as the J-20 but a change of standard rifle for the PLA still makes a large difference for war fighting capabilities as whole simply due to the vast amounts its going to be issued in.

The change to the DBP 88 heavy round would actually give commonality between a SAW, DMR, Carbine, and the standard issue which should simplify logistics significantly.

Would people please give up some of their precious time to find information on this rifle because I do not know where to find any.

Basically, I don't see too much of a difference in this new weapon. But a couple of posters in Chinese BBS had stated that it had a new 35mm grenade launcher.

And if that is the case, I don't see how big an improvement this might be as compare to the Type 95G assault rifle.

I agree with rhino, minor upgrades to the weapons system do not constitute a sufficient reason for giving this weapon a new designation.

Larger scopes, redesigned trigger and mounting lugs/points, these are detail changes, there really is no significant change to the weapon.
