This was originally posted in the war thunder forums this morning because they wanted to prove to the devs that it has higher pen than it currently has in the test server....
So this has the potential of being another Challenger 2 mantlet fiasco?.
To me, it doesn't seem like that big of a deal since like PapaOsama said, they've talked about the specs before on TV but I bet it'll get talked a lot about in the west.
This picture also shows why Chinas APDSFS rounds are so limited.
You could lengthen the sabot by 50% if it were mono round, in for example bustle autoloader, and not split carousel.

well yeah ,but that a lot of work , it mean's a new chamber , new autoloader and with that probably the whole tank need a bit re shuffling, consider a tank force almost 4000 tanks strong it make sense to stick to what they have now , and just jump to a new gen tank altogether when it is required.
I think all of the major tank producer now are playing around with new ideas and prototypes ,none one is for sure what the next gen tank will need to do , and more over , what is the best way to do so . So no one is making a new tank chassis platform on mass beside maybe T-14 but the Russian are so poor that by the time the field T14 division I think I will be a grand parent.
Not necessarily. You could lengthen the dart by redesigning the caroussel around a bit, as Russia did for the T-90M and T-80BVM, which allowed them to go from +500mm long penetrators to +700mm long penetrators

To be honest, I don't see why it should be treated that way. Someone is selling DTC-10 steel cores on 闲鱼(A second-hand trading platform) for about 2000 RMB a piece. The manual is to prove that what he is selling is genuine.
