It could be the case PLAN has different requirements. There's a whole slew of questions pertaining to integrating HQ-19 into current PLAN sensors and combat systems since all of their main radars are currently S band and C band for HQ-9 fire control. But ofc we don't really know fore sure HQ-19 target aquisition & fire control radar is X band like TPY-2 either since there's an S-band SLC-12 that's similarly sized and we've seen it and the X band SLC-14 together in Jiuquan.

That being said I am fairly certain HQ-26 exists and is indeed a HQ-19 like system. Can't really find where I read about it but I remember very clearly a source saying sth like "theater high altitude ABM systems like HQ-19, HQ-26". Sounds a lot like they are parallels. Maybe it had already posted it here before and that's where I saw it. Would appreciate if someone could dig it up lol.
Are there any specifications for HQ-26? I heard that its capabilities will be similar to the SM-6 missile. But I don't remember the source.

I doubt if it would be that comparable to SM-6. SM-6 predominately engages aerodynamic targets and thus lacks the thermal shielded KKV with an actively cooled IR seeker required for high altitude engagement.

If this is sth like what we think HQ-26 is, it will be similar to a "boosted THAAD" proposed for naval use. HQ-19 but with higher burnout velocity perhaps. No idea.jpg

Main problem for sm-6 isn't seeker(you absolutely can do abm with ARH; IR is just braindead better/simpler against space background), it's that it's a through and thorough aerodynamic weapon.

It is just sluggish/imprecise in upper atmosphere, on top of being armed with a rather suboptimal warhead. It limits outer boundaries of intercept window(range, altitude), and limits pK.

active radar guidance alone is ineffective at intercepting high-speed targets outside the atmosphere.

Well yes I should be more specific. Ofc, there are a bunch of ARH ABM missiles around, they are just not the kind of endo/exo-atmospheric interceptor HQ-19 is.

Not sure about the marinized/naval THAAD label there, it looks more like the "boosted THAAD" in the image below, while the navalized THAAD is a bit smaller without those fins.

Looks like the new airdropped ifv has a air defense version with FK-3000/fk2000 missle
And airdropped version of the sws3 1000070997.jpg1000070998.jpg1000071001.jpg1000071000.jpg1000071005.jpg1000071006.jpg1000071002.jpg
