PLA air operations in westpac region

they literally made it so that Chinese missiles can't hit anything except the DF-21, and they still lost. if they made it even somewhat accurate, it wouldn't be an interesting battle, it'd just be "oh shit we lost everything while inflicting 0 losses"
Also notice how they scripted China's response to the US carrier in the SCS to go for air battle lol

Whereas in real life China would look at the carrier, relax and just press a button to fire a lot of missiles at the CBG from 1000s km away and sink it.

Really, the people who did this scenario had an agenda and made China use tactics that they wished China would use. For example, why even go for air-to-air battle against US Navy's biggest strength (naval aviation)

To conclude, nerfed Chinese weapons, used braindead Chinese tactics and still lost their precious CBG. As I have been saying all along, anything inside the 1st island chain will be immediately sank if a military conflict happens

Here's a good entertaining video about the scenario simulation goes on in the SCS. It's pretty good and keep in mind that this video was done last year with the available information on PLAAF and PLAN weapons systems. So take it with a grain of salt and enjoy. I thinks it's a good education video for starters and long time China military watchers to get a good grip of the cost of war or conflict can be.

I had seen that a while back and thought it was a poor and unrealistic pantomime run to obvious western biases and preconceptions as a ego save.

It was pretty clear the channel made a lot of ‘tweaks’ to DCS to massively boost US AMRAAMs and nerf Chinese PL12s (best core Fox3 in the game) and PL15s to the point that PL12s were essentially useless and the AMRAAM had the same practical range as the PL15.

Strategically it also made zero sense for China to send in conventional bombers first and only use its AShBMs as a pointless final throw of the dice.

In a realistic scenario, AShBMs would have gone first and obliterated the carrier fleet with only a handful of planes having had time to launch and its over.

Even if the US carrier launched all its fighters, they would have most likely only have a comparable kill-loss rate against PL12s and been slaughtered by the PL15.

However, because that channel’s core fanbase would have been western military fanboys, no way could they release that and not see its subscribers rage-quit en mass. So they have to ‘fix’ it to fit American expectations of superior western forces being outnumbered and caught off guard and even then managing to kill many times more enemies before finally heroically falling.

I think the worst part was 60 J-11s in ASuW load charging the carrier Banzai style. Like really?

If you guys like this sort of thing, this channel also does DCS simulations.

Also massively biased, but they are a lot more honest about it since they are mostly doing it for fun and don’t mess around tweaking core aspects of the game like missiles and jammers to meet pre-concocted results.

Combat starts at around the 32m mark if you want to skip all the scenario setting, which is mostly nonsense since they are limiting China to just the forces based in the immediate area around Taiwan at peace time. And seems to be done more for balance so the battles would be entertaining to watch more than anything.

The Taiwan Department of Defense announced late on the 14th that a total of 11 PLA military aircraft were patrolling southwestern Taiwan airspace that day. And this is also the largest scale of military aircraft sent by the People's Liberation Army to patrol the Taiwan Strait since the New Year.

What are the factors related to this change?

Is this related to the latest developments of the US aircraft carrier "Carl Vinson" in the South China Sea? After all, on the 14th, the US aircraft carrier was active around Fiery Cross Reef at Nansha and reconnaissance of the US aircraft was also very strong that day. However, Lao Liu believes this may only be part of the reason.

According to information released by the Taiwan Department of Defense, on the 14th, the People's Liberation Army dispatched 10 J-16 fighter missions and 1 Yun-8 electronic reconnaissance aircraft missions to patrol the southwest corner of the "Identification Zone". of Southwest Air Defense". in the bay. Lao Liu checked the statistics of our military aircraft crossing the Taiwan Strait released by the Taiwan Department of Defense since New Year's Day 2022. The 11 missions dispatched on the 14th were the highest since New Year's, and the 10 fighters dispatched were also first for the first time this year.

According to Taiwanese military statistics, on the 13th, the PLA dispatched 1 sortie of Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft; on the 12th, 1 sortie of Yun-8 technical reconnaissance aircraft and 1 sortie of Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft; On the 10th, 4 sorties of J-16 fighters, 1 sortie of Yun-8 electronic reconnaissance aircraft, 4 sorties of J-16 fighters at night; 1 Yun-8 anti-submarine aircraft sortie on the 8th; two batches on the 7th, one batch of J-16 2 fighter missions, 1 Yun-8 electronic reconnaissance aircraft, 1 Yun-8 long-range dry aircraft and another batch of J-16 2 missions combat aircraft; 3 missions on the 6th, Yun-8 special aircraft; 2 sorties of 16 fighters; on the 4th, there were two batches, one for Yun-8 long-range dry aircraft, 1 sortie for Yun-8 anti-submarine aircraft, 3 sorties for J-16 fighters, and the other batch for J-16 fighters 2 missions; 1 Yun-8 technical reconnaissance aircraft departure on the 2nd; 1 Yun-8 anti-submarine aircraft exit on the 1st.

Yet the US still lost an entire carrier group.
