Interesting development. Maybe in the future they might end deployments by landing at chinese air bases for resupply. Long missions like that might be easier to land near Shanghai or Guangzhou.

Y-20U already in service... It seems like that every time I wake up there is new development.
With two or more fuel tanks, it's not very hard for J-10 to patrol this way, especially when in high altitude.
J-10 isn’t taking off from the coast though. They are stationed further inland than you think.
The J-10s should have been taking off from Waisha airport, Shantou, it's in the northeast most of Guangdong province and is 10 km away from the coast, just the point where I plot the track from.

Why is it always south? Is there a reason they never cross the ADIZ from the north?
No, but Iit's the nearest air force base with J-10 deployed.
Then the Japanese would ring the alarm.
