Now I'm indeed surprised: This KJ-500H with the serial number '81198' is from the 9th Naval Air Division in the Southern Theater Command.

This unit was first noted in April 2015 however then with '85x9x' serials at Lingshui, where now the reformed 3rd NAD is located.
What?

As such I was quite unsure, what happened with the 9th NAD and it's base is still unconfirmed. However it would fit to those spotted at Yongzhou Lingling NAS.

Wow ... for the first time KJ-500 serial number 30171 (aka no. 11) assigned to the 26th Special Mission Division was spotted.
However what is even more surprising, as per the photographer's info it was already taken on 25. July 2018.

What surprises me the most is date, that image was allegedly taken.
If indeed almost 1 3/4 years old, similar to the painted FC-31V2 also from late 2018 ... what else have we missed?

How big is our knowledge gap and what is the current status of our information?

Most likely unbelievably big.

The clampdown on information and images has been effective. We are most likely quite behind the curve.

JN1101 EW plane from the No. 36 Institute of CETC. Unsure if this is for export or domestic use. Does anyone recognize the airframe this EW system is installed on? It looks to be a business jet.
