While Russia is reeling from the 2nd loss of their very meager fleet of AEW&C aircrafts, here I found a very intriguing claim from quite a while back:

To recall: @斯文的土匪--- is the exact guy who first posted about the development of new AEW&C radar arrays for the PLA, and he's also the first to mention KJ-700 and KJ-3000 a while ago.

I have seen Cute Orca shared and/or quote-posted a couple of @万年炎帝's other posts in the past, so I think that he is credible to a degree (or at least I am hoping for), though I can't be absolutely sure. @斯文的土匪---'s reply is the only reason that I choose to post this one here after much deliberation.

Anyone has any idea? To verify/add/rectify/refute the claim? Because if this claim is true, China will be having 100+ AEW&C aircrafts within the next 2 years (though a very welcoming development indeed).

Though, TBH, I'm more taken aback by the rate of production claimed instead of the total number to be anticipated in the coming years.
No one can prove Russia has lost an A-50 in January. Also, Sea of Azov is an extremely shallow sea(5-10M at 70% of the area), It is impossible that no debris has been found or seen by the satellites.

Sure. But, we do know that something really did happen over the Sea of Azov that day.

The caption says it's a maritime patrol aircraft, so it's likely a Y-8J, and indeed the contours of the nose section matches.
Thank you for the correction.
