Philippines Vs Taiwan... Troubled Waters

They realize now that they must reveal the truth and own up to it.

Time will tell.

YES. Now that they can no longer cover their lies with the little but overwhelming evidence.

The NBI has not been forthcoming with new evidence. They have refused to provide the Testimonial evidence of PCG interview by NBI. They hesitated with providing the viewing and dubbing of the PCG Video. They hesitated cooperating with the Taiwan investigators. The NBI report contains damning conclusions (tampered video and Supposed Ramming or Supposed Attempted Ramming) that are likely already obvious to the Taiwan Investigators.

We have yet to see the PCG Video (Tampered and Original Edition). We have yet to see the NBI report which is not yet officially released. We have to hear the testimonial evidence from the PCG crew, who are reported to be participating in the Philippine Independence Day Celabration on June 11.

The cynical part of me cannot help but wonder if the NBI would have reached the same conclusions if there was not a parallel Taiwan team investigating.

I'd a 100 bucks that they're blaming the Taiwan's active involvement, specifically that it'd have been a simple 4-hours office work with Microsoft Word, now they've to actually do real investigation...worse, all those "extra work" won't matter in the end because those mudak in Manila will just sweep everything under the rug as usual. In short, for the NBI this is a gigantic waste of time.

Family of slain fisherman still awaiting an apology

FIRST THINGS FIRST:Hung Shih-cheng’s family said that they would not discuss the compensation promised until receiving the apology. Fishery talks are in the works

Staff writer, with CNA

The family of the Taiwanese fisherman shot dead by Philippine Coast Guard officers while fishing in disputed waters in May said on Friday that their stance remained unchanged, demanding that the government of the Philippines apologize over the incident first before talking about reconciliation.

Hung Tzu-chien (洪慈綪), the daughter of slain fisherman, Hung Shih-cheng (洪石成), said her family was reached by the Philippines through a lawyer about reconciliation, but she was not clear whether the lawyer was sent by the Philippine government.

It's not surprising that this has gone off into limbo land with the Philippine govt. After the completion of the NBI investigation and submission of report and recommendation to Aquino, nothing becomes of it.

The administration of Philippine President Benigno Aquino III has agreed to send a special envoy to Taiwan to apologize for the shooting death of fisherman Hung Shih-cheng (洪石成), his daughter, Hung Tzu-chien (洪慈綪), said yesterday.

Now how about actually addressing the NBI report and recommendation?

What, you seriously believe those mudak would actually bother to follow through those things? Besides, now they're getting that 2nd-hand boat from France, that means in the future there will be no Taiwanese/Chinese boat escape to tell the tale...well, unless their marksmanship is so pathetic that they'd miss all the 40mm cannon shots.

Would love to see the entire clip to better assess but from what is shown so far, the fishing boat has no crew up top, the PCG is merely yelling to "stop" which will be hindered by language barrier as well as the inability to hear anything (no bullhorn, no flares, no signage), and the PCG vessel definitely was not being rammed as it followed and at times ran parallel to the fishing boat. The PCG vessel clearly had the capability to catch up to the fishing boat with ease. No one on the PCG vessel reacted in any way that would be indicative of an attempted ramming.

Here's another video. I've read those responsible edited the video so it looked like they fired less than in actuality. This video has bad sound, not sure it's because the attempt to tamper with evidence, so strangely you can hear some things but not really gunshots. It doesn't look like any attempted ramming to me.
