Peru is buying Chinese tanks

Honestly, I don't think the Chinese will win Peru's tank competition; the market for tanks is pretty saturated with tons of slightly used Leopard 2's being sold by the Germans and the Dutch. Unless the Chinese can SIGNIFICANTLY undercut in price (for example, the Dutch sold Leopard 2 A4's for $5.5 million per vehicle to the Norwegians), I just don't see the Chinese winning the contract.
I don't see why China cannot win the orders. Peru is looking for a tank that suits their requirements, specifications and price range. Its pretty reckless for Peru to purchase an +5 million/tank just cause its reputation is elevated by fanboys. Even China most advanced tank Type 99 only accounts around ~$2 million/tank, which is is more then half the price, with speculated on par overall performance. Considering how Peru is only purchasing the 2nd generation tanks of China, it shouldn't be more then around ~$1 million/tank. So what your saying isn't accurate at all or correct stipulating that China tank are around the same price as the Leopards. Five 2nd generation tank compared to the price of 1. And being an EU committee the Germans are, any embargo imposed by the EU means no shipments of tanks to Peru, while China has so far on order deals delivered on time, compared to other non-western suppliers.

Something else to consider in choosing tanks is the terrain and infrastructure.

Having the biggest, baddest tank means nothing if it can't get to where its needed.

In addition, the Chinese 125mm is said to be optimized for close range work and will outperform the standard western 120mm up to a certain range. Last I checked, Peru doesn't have much in terms of flat open plains that would allow western tanks to take advantage of their better long range gun, while the Chinese 125mm would have the upper hand when the terrain restricts maximum detection range to within optimal firing range of the 125mm.

I also agreed what you mention especially the EU embargo thing that will haunt these 3rd world countries. China military product is regaining its popularity again.

Seeing how they're already used in a parade, I think the sale will most likely succeed.

The armor packages appears inferior to the latest Type 96 though.

From their sheer size and coverage? These look like the mark of ERA used by Pakistan, not at all like the ones the PLA uses, which is more in line with what the Type99 is equipped with.

That price I quoted includes training and refurbishment of the tanks. Frankly, there hasn't been much in the way of sales of brand new tanks around the world, and the majority of the sales of tanks have been primarily used Leopard 2's being disposed of by a number of European nations. I would not be surprised if Peru picks up used tanks over brand new Chinese tanks as the market for tanks is pretty depressed right now. Lots of sellers, not many buyers.

Please, no more Leopard in the picture and please be surprised. Cause Peru President already comfirm the purchase of Chinese VT-1A, Leopard loses out.

Chinese military hardware has proven itself before. Remember PL-45 for kuwaiti army? The fact, a second batch were ordered after speaks something of the product.
