Yeah I stumbled onto those photos myself after I made that post. They date from December 2012. The design its self dates from the 1970s. The basis the Bell Helicopter 214ST looks a bit like the hull of a Blackhawk with the rotor, tail and skids of a Huey. Its twin engine and packs in about the same capacity as a Blackhawk. Of course with only a two blade rotor not as efficiently.
How far they have gotten is open for debate but the only photos seen of a confirmed Iranian I have seen are these yellow ones. Sadam Hussein's Iraq was a user of the 214ST so its likely that the Iranians may have captured one at some point but use? Flight? Deployment to the Iranian military or IRGC?

Thanks for those photos, ShahryarHedayat.

Are those recent photos? Is that an initial helicopter?

I am just interested in knowing how far along their program is. Prototypes? Already test flown? In production? Deployed? etc.

Those sorts of things.

that photo was taken in 2009!!

there isn't any single official statement about it...maybe canceled!!...:(

and According to Commander of the IRGC the new aircraft is “heavier and larger” than the other helicopters the IRGC has previously manufactured.
The new chopper will have two crew and
has been designed to carry out assault missions

"As soon as the manufacturing phases are completed, we will publicize it,” General Hajizadeh said.

but I based the age on the photos and a news report I found both dating from 2012. I don't use Fars news they have a bad habit of posting direct propaganda.

I recommend changing your photo posting style. your Hot linking and lots of forums don't like this. that probably why the photos you just posted are a no show.
I recommend Photo Bucket my self but I also use other hosting sites form time to time.
Copy the photo, upload the photo, use as needed.

These seem to match what you are aiming for a twin engine 4 blade 8 passenger with a Festron tail.
These have also shown up on MP.net as the Homa which may infact be the out growth of the yellow bird we saw earilier

Exclusive: Three Iran-Made Choppers Waiting for Final Approval
Exclusive: Three Iran-Made Choppers Waiting for Final Approval

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran has designed and built three helicopters which have passed all tests and are now waiting for them to be licensed for mass production, Managing Director of Iran's Helicopter Renovation and Logistics Company (PANHA) said, adding that one of the choppers can be equipped with radar-evading capability.
"In addition to overhauling all types of choppers, Panha Co. has designed and built three helicopters in three different classes for the country's future needs," General Mohammad Ali Ahmadabadi, who company is a subsidiary of the Iranian Defense Ministry, told FNA on Wednesday.

He said one of the helicopters has been designed to replace training jet choppers, while the second one, called Saba, has the capacity to transfer 8 passengers and has been made for marine, rescue and relief, and transportation missions.

"The third Iran-made chopper is the semi-heavy Homa helicopter. This chopper which can carry 14 people on board can be armed with various weapons systems and also equipped with a radar-evading capability," said the General who is also a pilot himself.

He said all the three have already passed tests and received flight approvals, "and we are just waiting for the final license to start their mass production".

In early June, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan announced that PANHA had overhauled 20 helicopters and brought them back into action for the country's different military forces.

"The experts and staff of the Defense Ministry's Aviation Industries Organization have overhauled 20 helicopters of the Armed Forces at PANHA (helicopter manufacturing) company and we are now observing their delivery to Iran's honorable Armed Forces," Dehqan said in Tehran on June 2.

The minister said the 20 helicopters belonged to different categories and models, including "205, 212, 214, 412, SH, RH, CH and Mil".

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

In November, the newly-overhauled SH3D combat helicopter came back into operation in a ceremony attended by senior Iranian commanders.

The helicopter came back into operation for the Navy after nearly 20 months of overhaul repairs and seven months of tests.

Iran has flown its smaller version of the RQ-170

, Hajizadeh had informed in September that "the prototype model of this drone (which was 60% smaller than the original drone in size) flew about three months ago

We have plans to bring into operation, at least, four indigenized RQ-170 drones for missions by the end of this (Iranian) year (March 20)," Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said on Wednesday

it will enter service in different shapes and performance and only composite material is used and its low cost.

four units will be delivered by the end of the Persian year and mass-production will start, next year.

Iraqi F-16 not delivered for the moment ... especially if ever ISIS take control Irak.
Russians less prudent deliver them.
Block 52+ with CFU the better variant except block 60, F-16 E/F, fortunate to have as much oïl...

Oto Melara has been contracted by DCNS to supply four 76/62 Super Rapid Multi Feeding (SRMF) guns to equip four new Gowind 2500 corvettes ordered by Egypt.

The SRMF variant enables the automatic selection of the most appropriate ammunition in the gun magazine.

IHS Jane's revealed in June 2014 that DCNS had signed a contract covering the delivery of the corvettes.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Successfully Tested the Barak-8 Air & Missile Defense System
cuhlOZy.jpg

On November 10, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), in collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD), conducted a successful test of the Barak-8 Air & Missile Defense System. Barak-8 is an advanced groundbreaking air and missile defense system that provides ultimate protection against a variety of aerial platforms, both land and naval scenarios. It is designed jointly with the DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization) in India and is used by the IDF and the Indian defense forces. The system includes an advanced Phased Array digital radar, command and control, vertical launchers and missiles carrying a highly advanced seeker.

Is this because in the circumstances those F-16's aren't really useful? It can hardly be because there is anything very secret about these planes.

To the contrary, there are lots of things, and very good technology in the later block F-16s that the US would not like people like ISIS, or Iran, or others to get ahold of.

My guess is precisely that the US admin is not comfortable with the Iraqis being able to protect those aircraft and having one of those players get their hands on some of them.

They are smart IMHO to hold off until the Iraqi government is more stable and its military proves itself capable of defending its own bases.

The F-16s, if armed with the proper weapons, would be effective in attacking ISIS, or in defending Iraq against Iran.
