Egypt will begin receiving Ka-52 attack helicopters by end of year

Last week, Russian Helicopters had announced that it Egypt will take delivery of its first 15 (of 46) Kamov Ka-52 ‘Alligator’ attack helicopters in 2017.

U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT APPROVES $3.8 BILLION F-16V AND F-16V-UPGRADE SALE TO BAHRAIN

The U.S. State Department has approved a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) $2.79 billion U.S. sale for 19 new-built Lockheed Martin F-16V and a $1.08 billion F-16V upgrade set for 20 F-16C/D Block-40 to Bahrain.

Marquee components of the deal include, among others, AN/APG-83 active electronically-scanned array (AESA) radars, General Electric F-110-GE-129 engines, Improved Programmable Display Generators, Modular Mission Computers, Embedded Global Navigation Systems, AN/ALQ-211 AIDEWS self-protection and jamming suites and AN/APX-126 Advanced Identification Friend or Foe (AIFF) systems.

In addition, Bahrain also requested 25 AN/AAQ-33 Sniper Advanced Targeting Pods, six DB-110 Advanced Reconnaissance Systems, two AIM-9X air-to-air missiles (AAM), two AGM-88 High-speed Anti-Radiation Missiles (HARM), and kits for small numbers of various other air-to-surface munitions, among them the GBU-24 Paveway III laser-guided bomb (LGB) and GBU-38 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM).

The package also includes one Joint Mission Planning System, one F-16V simulator and captive training units (numbering between two and four) for the AIM-120C7, AGM-154 Joint Stand-off Weapon, MK-84/BLU-117, BLU-109 and AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missile. Besides MDEs, both deals include training, maintenance support, spare parts, logistics support and other standard after-sale provisions.

84 very potent aircraft for such a small country

Honestly Dassult have done very well on their own since they walked out of the Tyohoon project and built Rafale

The F-15QA ? request is for 72 ! so not realistic ofc i have see 24 of each types they have now 12 Mirage 2000-5EDA/DDA have replaced Mirage F1EDA/DDA, so number x 6 :eek:

Egypt takes delivery of first Gowind corvette from France

French shipbuilder Naval Group (formerly known as DCNS) delivered the first Gowind 2500 corvette to the Egyptian Navy on Friday, September 22.

The ceremony took place in Lorient in the presence of Admiral Ahmed Khaled, commander in chief of the Egyptian Navy, Hervé Guillou, president and CEO of Naval Group and senior officials of the French Navy and the French armament procurement agency.

ENS El Fateh, as the vessel is named, was delivered 36 months after the order was placed and will start her voyage home on September 23.

The other three corvettes will be built in Egypt under a transfer of technology agreement.

The French company has overall ten vessels in the class under contract, four for Egyptian and six for the Malaysian Navy.

Egypt has previously received a FREMM frigate and two Mistral-class landing helicopter docks from the French shipbuilder.

“Naval Group is particularly proud to announce today’s delivery of the first Gowind corvette for Egypt, a strategic client and partner of the group,” Hervé Guillou, president and CEO of Naval Group said. “Design, build and testing have been achieved in a record of 3 years. Naval Group and its industrial partners are mobilized to assist Egypt in the local construction in technology transfer of the three following corvettes.”

All Gowind corvettes for the Royal Malaysian Navy will be built in Malaysia where Boustead Naval Shipyards has launched the first unit in the class

Egypt’s 102-meter corvette comes equipped with the SETIS combat system and the “Panoramic Sensors and Intelligence Module (PSIM) in addition to a 76mm Oto Melara gun, vertical launch cells for MBDA’s MICA missile and torpedo launchers.

Displacing 2,600 tonnes, the ship is crewed by 80 persons (including the helicopter detachment) and reaches a speed of 25 knots.
