As a outdoor enthusiast, I want to start a thread on outdoor adventure sports in China, including mountaineering, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, etc.
China produces a lot of the relevant equipment. But I think these sports are still at its infant stage in China, reflected in both low participation and unnecessarily high accidents.
As PLAGF's need for knowledge and skills to fight in forbidding terrains increase, I hope development in civilian outdoor adventure sports will close the skills gap in PLAGF training and equipment acquisition.
