A laser Dazzler is a type of ADS. Active defense systems come in two types hard kill like trophy are intended too kill enemy rounds Soft kill are intended too prevent enemy from firing or achieving a lock on with fire and forget or guided rounds.

Is it just me or does this tank seem to have a rather thin barrel - assuming that it is mounting a 125 mm gun?

The gun sees to be closer in size to a 105 mm rather than the larger gun.

Is this tank meant to be an MBT or a replacement for the lighter tanks - like the older T-63?

If it is a 125 mm then it's a different gun from the one currently mounted on the Type 96 and Type 99, with a much thinner tube and a longer barrel.

Also even with the thermal sleeves, this gun also has a smaller fume extractor/ bore evacuator.

Does anyone know?

Ain't it exactly the reverse way?

Visual illusion of larger turret makes Leo2A6's gun "looks" not so much long - but man, IT IS LONG!

Visual illusion of relative small turret and huge chasis made these 99s looks having unreasonablly long barrel.

tanzania chinese make tank ,some blogger refer it as T-59G,But not sure.while the turrent was definetly Type-96,the chassic with her standard 5 road wheel pointing at T-59 tank.
is the tank design to compete against ukraine tyhoon tank?

An upgrade of their old tank without costing a bomb... To most third world countries, upgrading army is more important than airforce and navy.

both ukraine and russia are offering upgrade program for T-55 and T-62 tank.
likely China is offering similiar upgrade.using T-96 turrent on older T-59 chassic.
General dynamic offering to install M-1 Gun turrent on old M-60 chassic,it was offer to Turkey and egypt.

Pretty sure the Tanzania one is just a old Type 59 with Type 96 style added armor and new electronics, it's very unlikely to be an actual Type 96 turret which houses an autoloader.
