To all posters..Please post some sort of caption with the pictures so we can all know what the pictures are about..
Why?..Is the picture of that woman being held a drill or a real occurance? I don't know...

As the title has alreadly mentioned "Chinese and Thai special force joint training"
It is an anti-terrorist exerciese, the hostage is probably dressed up by either the Chinese or Thai military.
I think mxiong is refering to the incident of 2003.. where China suddenly change the PAP to PLA 13th army.. to patrol the Yunnan Border... about the same time as "Cobra Gold" ended. Washington denied it and China did not disclose it..so it's seen as a rumour, but the Chinese drastic action, may be seen as otherwise.
Traditionally, the Chinese patrol that border freely, just like in Tajiskistan. From that time, some rumours state that PAP was investigating info of US activities within the Shan state..Fire fight was with said to occurred.. and that the US paratroopers was believed to be constructing the secret air-strip.
It is also believed, for this very incident that prompted the Myanmar Junta to move the administration capital from Yangon abruptly in 2005, to better defend it. The Junta said it as much.

If this incident did occur and there were many US losses a tremendous cover up has occuried. All of the dependents(wives, children), friends and releatives of those lost in the battle had to be silenced....And those pesky "un-named " sources had to be silenced. With news networks like FOX, CNN, NBC, CBS etc..clamouring for this type of story it seems to me that this story would have made it to the forefront by this time some 4 years later...
Well popeye I have been aware of this for a while too but never payed much heed to it. However more "evidence" has been presented here than I have previously seen. I still don't really believe it though.
However I want to add that this would have traditionally been the CIA's area of operations (especially since it took place in SE Asia and they have a long history of paramilitary operations there) but the fact that it was apparently/supposedly a DoD operation adds credence to the story because since the CIA's Iraq fiasco, most of the CIA's "covert action" type operations have been usurped by the Pentagon.
If the CIA was in charge of an operation like this then it would have been Burmese doing the work and the fighting.
None of this is to say that I believe it. In fact I think it is somewhat preposterous to believe that US paratroopers were building a secret airstrip deep in Burma and the Chinese attacked. I just wanted to add a little background on what could have happened.
hey guys im not a miltiary expert, but from the chinese words on thsoe pictures... half of them are not chinese special operation force. they are just normal soliders in the mountain area and tibet military district.... dont post random pictures plz... the last picture is saying how being mobile is good in mountain areas for normal troops....
