New section suggestion for 'Chinese Science and Technology'

There is no appropriate section for non-military STEM threads.

(Member's Clubroom section is where non-military STEM threads are currently located. Members Club is a hodgepodge miscellaneous section, such as news, geopolitics like Miscellaneous thread, Hong Kong Protests, and Coronavirus pandemic thread...a clusterfck to be frank)

These threads can be moved to a new "Chinese Science and Technology" section, with few candidates as "pinned" flagships (Semiconductor!)
It goes without saying, high standards in SDF will be upheld, no geopolitics, nationalism, or gloating in this prestigious flag-ship section. These geopolitical threads shouldn't be mixed with non-military STEM threads, for they drown out the STEM threads, and risk of cross-contamination. A dedicated section for STEM threads will foster a strong serious discussion area and self-regulation that is so successful in the military sections of SDF.

This new section can even replace the "Professional Discussion Section" that has been abandoned or un-used in almost a decade. Repurpose that section into a modern and relevant section that people will actually use.

Bumping, @Webmaster or any other mods support.

TLDR: Eliminating the under-utilized "Professional Discussion" and replacing it with a "Chinese Science & Technology" section where "Serious" moderated threads like Chinese semiconductors et al., AI, science topics can reside and be stickie.

I'm not opposed to the idea of having a new section for more serious non-military discussions per se, but the proposals here would require a reorganization of the way the forum is currently structured which is not something the moderators can do and would need the webmaster to do so.

I have an alternative proposal, which is to have a [Serious] or [Credible] tag (maybe [C] for short) at the beginning of threads to signify them as having similar standards to the primary military category threads.

E.g. the semiconductor thread would be retitled to "[C] Chinese semiconductor thread"

Or, we can just raise expectations for everyone across the forum to stop treating parts of SDF like reddit, which would inevitably mean more bans, but seeing as there are more than a few members who don't contribute anything constructive apart from nationalistic chest thumping, I would be happy to enact a purge.
