Hello everyone, let me introduce myself. I am a retired PLA artilleryman (anti-tank missile operator) who served for 8 years. I found this website and have been lurking for half a year. Now I hope to have a harmonious discussion with you here (without violating the confidentiality agreement).

Would asking about training (for instance amount of live rounds fired) violate confidentiality?

Hello everyone. I’m a programmer, born in China, currently doing a master’s degree in Dublin. I plan to return to China to look for work after I graduate.

My family has a few military tradition. Supposedly one of my ancestors was the Qin general Zhao Tuo, the conqueror of Vietnam — at least that’s what my family tells me. My ancestors also took part in many wars during the Qing dynasty, but I don’t know any details. My great-grandfather was a Kuomintang captain and a logistics officer who faithfully carried out his duties during the eight-year War of Japan. I myself spent some time in a Corp in north china.

I mainly follow military developments in China, the United States, and India. I’m especially eager to learn more about India.

I enjoy grand strategy and analysis at the strategic level, and I’m also interested in the political, operational/campaign, tactical levels and in weapons.

I hope to write a long post soon attempting to analyze a potential Western Pacific–Eastern Indian Ocean conflict from a grand-strategy perspective. If anyone can point me to which channel or subforum would be most appropriate, I’d really appreciate it.

While I registered my account all the way back in 2023, I suppose it's still worthwhile to introduce myself properly (I honestly just learned that this thread exists tbh).

My name is Emily, I'm 20 years old and study aerospace engineering here in Germany. My father works for a well known European aviation giant, his father (so my grandfather) served in the Luftwaffe, meaning aviation runs in the family I guess. A select few may also know me from the Secret Projects Forum already, even fewer perhaps from Reddit?

Generally speaking I'm mostly versed in topics of related to Russian aviation, however I'm also an avid observer of US bomber projects, their history, development and deployment. More relevant to this forum though, I have taken a keen interest in the increasing pace of Chinese advancements in the military aviation sector and the quite impressive surface combatants constructed and put into service in China, going from soviet vessels, to modified designs to completely indigenous and powerful ships like the 052D or 055 destroyers. Which is why I mostly follow topics related to PLAAF fighter and bomber developments and the surface combatants of the PLAN, as well as threads related to Russian or US aviation as well. So that's where y'all will mostly interact with me.

I'm fluent in German, English and French and I'm starting my journey with Russian as well (sorry, Mandarin is too hard for me, so I'll rely on kind users and their translations here, lol).

All in all that's most of the relevant and semi-relevant stuff about my person.

Hi all, I'm interested in aircraft and spaceflight, and am fascinated by all the incredibly interesting hardware coming out of China these days. I have no engineering background, or other specialist knowledge, so probably won't post much, but I do have some CG skills and hope to show the Chengdu J-20S (my favorite aircraft) that I'm making when it's finished in your CGI thread.
