A birthday present for Mao, it seems.
The post suggests it is the first flight, after sitting in the sun for a few days. It landed 1pm Dec 26 (which is about 13 hours ago, my how the internets has changed the world). The typhoon comment was emphatic about "internal", so something special about the internal structure of the wing?
As to being able to see the radar, I suspect that bit of information is from other sources.

Plenty of J-10S pics out there.

But back to the J-10. I recently bought a book, China's Aircraft History Since 1951, and in it there is photos of J-10 prototypes, one of them has conformal fuel tanks and a laser guidance pod, was this one not put into production? The book also talks a lot about other rumored J-10 varients including the J-10S, J-10B, J-10AS, and J-10BS, frankly I haven't seen any of these supposed varients.

The book is written by a hack who actually puts photoshopped pictures from the internet in this one. Those pictures are not real

Fanboy art, and I think I know which particular picture you are talking about.

Any time you see picture of J-10 with conformal fuel tanks, or DSI inlet, or inlet without the six structs, you can disregard the picture as a fanboy art.

Does anyone know of the regular J-11B is in production yet? I have heard conflicting reports. Some reports say it still has 10% Russian parts, therefore, any production of it would be tied to Russia and I doubt they would supply the Chinese for a pirated plane.

A lot of sources say that the J-11B is also partially stealth but I don't see any stealthy features on it in any of the pictures that Ive seen.

It entered production last year. A factory photo displayed in a Chinese defense exhibit last year showed an assembly line with what looks like three to four aircraft under production. And that's not all. The aircraft behind the single seater were double seaters. As of February 2008, we also saw leaked photographs of a regiment undergoing conversion to the type.

As being partially stealth, the plane has undergone some RCS reductions, but I won't call it stealthy yet. More like it appears more like a small plane in the radar now as opposed to being partially stealth.

Do you find this person/source reliable?

In any case, how long has J-10B been under flight-testing?

Just read the same at PDF but how can someone see from distance that it has AESA? Whatever it wil be, it will be worth to be analysed...

It's hard for me to imagine that AESA is already on these prototypes, but I do believe they will go on production versions. I don't the issue is whether or not they can develop AESA radar, but whether or not they can mass produce them cheaply for mass deployment.

Anyhow, I would view this with caution. Before its picture comes out, there is no need to be too confident about these descriptions.

tphuang, are these Chinese internet sources reliable in your opinion? We've all had experience chasing rumours that lead to nothing that started from Chinese BBS internet rumours

Depends, certain stuff you know right away is junk, certain stuff you keep in the back of your mind, certain stuff you treat more seriously. I would put this somewhere between back of my head and seriously.

I can say this, from the people that posted recently, it appears something dramatic happened very recently at CAC. It looks like the first flight of a plane. Now whether or not that is J-10B or J-10B with AESA radar or something, that's something I don't know exactly. But from the past, I would say there were pretty good sources that indicate J-10B had already flied. As always, wait for more news.
