Maybe these tariffs are meant to target US brands and not Chinese Brands. GM sells a lot of rebadged (wuling, SAIC) cars imported from China in Latin American markets, these new tariffs prevents GM from doing the same to the US market.

F150 is bigger
You need to compare to Ford Ranger/Chevy Colorado/Toyota Tacoma etc (Mid-size).
Price is similar
