I advise not holding your breath. The Russians have made a lot of plans yet build? They were supposed to and are supposed to replace Soyuz by my count half a dozen times now. Orel is supposed to replace it now but we haven’t seen hide nor hair.
Now along side that they want a new station or joint venture with China. The Chinese don’t need the Russians. They already have the start of their station. The Russians might need the Chinese though because they don’t have a station yet. Farther the recent issues with ISS in new modules thrusters raid safety questions. Image of the Russians launch a new station module go to dock and suddenly the station’s thrusters decided it didn’t like the orbit? It’s not a pretty picture.
That’s not even considering the questions on QC. Remember the Hole in Soyuz? The Russians may try and blame a foreign Astronaut (if you want to get spicy about that see here #7

) but that’s pretty questionable boarding on magic bullets.
Do I think Russia could maybe build a new station? Maybe. Maybe but given the issues they have had it seems like if they did it would be a Salut more than a Mir.
ROSS is a bigger priority than lunar bases, Even though the Yenisei was proposed to be 4 times cheaper than the SLS the developement was too expensive where they recommend a methane engine solution. They have Krylo-SV and Irkut which is a new methane rocket with a total mass of 25 tons being used as a fly wing and Amur which is a methane VTOL version. Of course they dont have money to blow like the US and China. Its not just the drilling in holes lady I also heard NASA had a lesbian that committed the 1st space crime spying on her exs bank account or something like that as well, surely the chinese would prefer to cooperate with Russia. NASA is too woke for me to enjoy that I would rather prefer to follow another US space company even if most of the time the CEO displays himself as a vaporware salesman with having big fans like thunderf00t. Happy about Nuklon is enough for me

It needs to be if they intend to actually have a proper program. But given their track record it’s not exactly a bright shiny future.
Their last two launches suffered uncontrollable rock firings back to back. Including Nauka.

The modules on the ROS are suffering leaks and the aforementioned holes on a Soyuz are far more damning an issue than the civil law incident.
I would be more impressed with Irkut and the recoverable boosters if it was actually flying.
Which is a statement I make a lot about new Russian programs across the forum. Show me bent metal and a launch don’t just report the Tass article about this brand new thing that brushes last year’s version under the proverbial carpet.

Sure Bezos Blue origin is only flying publicity stunts the rest of their program suffered under terrible management. Virgin is a joke only intended for rollercoaster rides. Space X has been launching missions manned missions. Heck Boeing is having a time trying to get its capsule straight.
Like it or not Private Rockets are the western future.

being honest I suspected something like this might show up.
Of all the possible malfunctions this is probably the most disgusting, yet least actually likely to cause a problem. Crewed dragon as used is basically a space a minivan. In flights the majority of its missions are to ISS or from ISS. This means they tend to dock inside a day or have landed rather soon after undocking. Most astronauts report that inside the first 2 hours they need to urinate but few report needing to defecate in the first 24 hours. Once docked the ISS has its own facilities. So the civilian joyride was the longest undocked operation basically it gave the life support system a longer time in operation than any of it’s normal missions. Meaning that an issue that is normally not able to materialize had a chance to.
This is kinda SpaceX model of proving out in flights. Then fix what breaks. The dragon on ISS is slated to return in the next few weeks. The Dragon on the pad according to

has the fix. The capsule returning doesn’t, but since the heady days of Yuri Gagarin Cosmonauts and Astronauts have had two alternate systems in case of the need of bodily evacuation. absorbing underwear (adult diapers) and bags.

It's going to blow up, deform then blow up or crash then blow up.

There's a reason why stainless isn't used for rockets.

There's another reason why why propellent tanks don't share a common wall.

Then there's another reason why it's better to have few powerful engines than 10+ small ones.

But it's just taxpayer and Gulf Arab money so whatever lol.

Centaur upper stage of the Atlas V uses Stainless steel.

It’s quite common for weight reduction.

Most rockets until today were disposed of in launch so it was a cost issue. SpaceX has made its name though by building engines on a mass scale production. It’s true the N1 rocket tried it and failed in an epic manor. But Falcon 9 and the previous launches prove that SpaceX can do it.

LMAO. No it’s Internal funds no take dollars No Gulf money. It’s SpaceX funds . Perhaps you should change your handle.

Atlas 5 upper stage uses stainless steel tanks, not stainless steel structural components. The tanks are not weight bearing structures but rather balloon tanks that are pressure stabilized; structural components are still aluminum.

The adapters connect the tank structure to the rest of the rocket.

Both interstage adapters use the same flight-proven aluminum/lithium skin/stringer construction
Common bulkheads are a less reliable design because 1. weld seam is a weakpoint and 2. it cannot simultaneously be strong against pressure from both sides since the concave side will be weaker to pressure than the convex side.

And just because Centaur stage originally designed in the 1960's uses it doesn't mean that it's a good idea.
