Movies in General

Just saw it and was pleasantly surprised, great movie. Critics hated the movie, probably due to how uncomfortable the movie's satire hits home for them and their role in perpetuating the idiocy of this current society.
Agree. It got mixed reviews and bashing from some well known critics as I suspect cuz it cuts to close to the truth about the idiocy of American governance system, their politicians, billionaires corporations and of course their society, celebrity culture etc.

It is also sobering how this accuratly reflects on americas attitude towards the impending climate change issue as well as their disastrous covid management. The billionaire bigwig focus on himself, profits and rare comet materials over human lives and earth's existence also was comical and depressingly not far from the truth.

The part of how US abandoned their allies and partners was also accurate. Bet the french leaders watching it felt the same. I was gonna say Afghan collaboraters too but unlikely they get to watch Netflix there.

Good movie to be honest I enjoyed it. Even the tiny tibits when China was mentioned. Like panda paws and president qin lol.

For some reason I can never stand the smugness that oozes out from the person that runs that channel. The man for me is clearly an anti-China c..t but is clever enough not to be overt with his bent in order to appear "objective" and somewhat authoritative on anything China which is nothing but a crock of manure.
Thanks for the heads up. Didn't know about this channel. Will avoid now. The name itself smacks of pretension anyway.

I just have to laugh at all those Chinese parents that taught their children to hate China for the US so they would be better accepted. I can't say that Simu Lu and Chloe Zhao are why Beijing didn't allow the movies they were involved with to be released in China but it doesn't help. I wonder if Beijing thinks these people who were chosen by Marvel was an underhanded slap in their face. It's like the controversy over Star Wars posters in China where John Boyega was depicted smaller than everyone else. China doesn't design those posters. Disney does. I even heard they had some Hong Kong advertising company do it for them. If that were true, these days why would anyone trust a Hong Kong company on advertisement in China. It's like that supposed racist warning sign posted at a McDonald's across the border from Hong Kong telling Africans weren't allowed in. Problem was it was written in English so Americans can understand it. I wouldn't be surprised it was someone from Hong Kong that did that.

Railway Heroes full movie

I think Lao Wang could have done a lil' better than that if he had a grenade. All he had to do was go to the general's office. On any day he could have gotten the general and the hanjian together; on a good day, maybe all 4 if they were having a meeting, and pull the grenade in his coat as he pretended to report something to them. Coal shoveler kid could have played it smart too; the captain told him to shovel, so instead of refusing and then trying to fight him with a 2 inch fruit peeler, he should have picked up the shovel, put 2 heaps into the engine and when the captain's turned around trying to drive, pile that shovel blade into his face/neck from the side. Dude would be dead so fast he'd be in hell wondering where the train went. But whatever, still an inspirational movie.

Have you heard about a movie named "张之洞"? It is said that there were only 3 audiences on the first day of show. I couldn't find trailer of the movie on Youtube.
