Well, three Grandsons have been over since Wednesday. Starting Thursday morning, I took Thurs and Friday off from work and we started the great Papa Movie Marathon. We watched all six Star Wars movie in order, Episodes I through VI. Then we started with the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and watched all three Hobbit movies followed by all three of the Lord of the Rings movies. Twelve long, epic movies, in order and we finished about 8:30 PM last night (Saturday)! Whew! We thought it would be fun and easy. Well, it was fun...but it was fatiguing and not easy!

Masterchef competitions bring together an eclectic group of people vying to be the best home cook. So you can see the various personalities intermingle. Christopher Lu is rather cocky, which may portend rocky relations and insidious politicking ahead. In reality shows, it is better to grit your teeth to stay humble and keep your head down to work on whatever is in front of you. The previous judge, Joe Bastianich, could break a contestant if he misstepped.

I find Masterchef Australia is the best of the franchise. The contestants are not unruly (not sure if it is due to editing), more properly attired, you see less tattoos and its format more enjoyable.

I thought this movie was a fun when it first came out despite the controversy at that time. I saw actor James Hong at Comic Con being pushed around in a wheelchair and he was holding a sign that said something like "I'm old so get out of my way!" I had the feeling he really didn't need the wheelchair.

I enjoyed the show as it was entertaining and writer is right to call it a 'cult classic'. Remaking it shows its popularity. Victor Wong was most memorable to me for his acting. Goodness, this man married four times, to Dawn Rose, Robin Goodfellow, Carol Freeland and Olive Thurman. Our friend Equation needs to learn a thing or two from him.

The show piqued my interest in the Chinatown underground tunnels and I saw a documentary about it on NG. One usage was by women to hide from immigration officials.

"You mean oil?"

"No I meant black blood of the Earth".

[Simon Pegg Talks Original STAR TREK 3 Script - AMC Movie News

Published on May 22, 2015

In an interview with Radio Times Magazine, Star Trek 3 co-writer and co-star Simon Pegg said the following about the project:

They had a script for Star Trek that wasn’t really working for them. I think the studio was worried that it might have been a little bit too Star Trek-y.

Avengers Assemble, which is a pretty nerdy, comic-book, supposedly niche thing, made $1.5 dollars. Star Trek: Into Darkness made half a billion, which is still brilliant. But it means that, according to the studio, there’s still $1 billion worth of box office that don’t go and see Star Trek. And they want to know why.]

Well FFSW had crystals, a guy named Cid, that's usually what most FF games have connecting them since 7,8 and 9 could've all been completely different stand alone titles and that would've been more accurate.

But with that said FFSW is just a simplistic Aliens rip off

That's because Masterchef Australia screen and psychoanalyse every contestant before the show, and only select the most appealing of the bunch for the top 50 - their cooking skills are actually secondary. After 6 seasons, the show has evolved into this highly choreographed, super saccharine show where every contestant is sooooo nice and you expect every contestant to cry and tell a sob story on the cue. It is kind of boring to watch nowadays.

If you are into cooking contest show, I suggest you watch MKR (My Kitchen Rules) - it is another Australian cooking contest show similar to Masterchef Australia but in a different format, and it focus more on the personality and it is far more interesting and fun to watch. I started watching from last season (season 5) and I think it is the best season.

This channel has all the season 5 here ;)
