You are, of course, correct.

It is absolutely Knighthawk.

My bad...I have it right on that other thread. I will correct it here.

it's alright Jeff after all there are so many "Hawks" Blackhawk, Seahawk, Knighthawk, Nighthawk, PaveHawk, Tarantula Hawk, Fire Hawk, Global Hawk, EuroHawk, GoshHawk, WhiteHawk, Hawkeye, Rescue Hawk, Stealth Hawk, Speed Hawk, Ghost Hawk, Battle hawk, Mohawk, I think there is a Laser hawk and attack hawk. Z20 is our Sino Hawk. I would lay down money on some where in the Militaries of the world there being Ninja Hawk, Hunter Hawk, Strike Hawk, Red Hawk... So I think that any mixing of Hawks is forgivable.

Yep, that is all true. And a super frelon/Z-8 was indeed the first helicopter to land on a PLAN ship.

However, given this chart looks at modern and/or in service ASW helicopters, the Z-8 "technically" should not be on the list.
Hehehe. Touche, my friend.

Hence my change in name, per your suggestion, the Z18-FQ.

I just need now to get some specifics on the sensors, engines, etc. that they will be using, and change the pic out for one of the new ones.

Good point...though most of these are definitely ASW helos, there are some used for other purposes (ie. Mine Warfare, SAR, VERTREP, ASuW Patrol, etc.). I will change the name of the thread to "Modrn Naval/ASW Helicopters Compared," to clarify.

For the MH-60R, as far as I have been able to determine, max of three torpedos carried at once (which is an imporvement over the two max for earlier SH-60B Seahawks.

Also, and I am not sure exactly why, but a max of one side or the other for four Hellfire missiles...not both sides at the same time.

Exact 3 torpedoes and 4 Helfire, for MH-60R 8. Bad data

I don't know SH-60B and F carry only 2 torpedoes.

RNZN SH-2G(I) Super Seasprite helicopter started test flights with AGM-119 Penguin anti-ship missile

The Royal New Zealand Navy released a picture showing the new NZ SH-2G(I) Super Seasprite helicopters in RNZN colours undergoing a test-flight yesterday at Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield Connecticut, USA. It is fitted with an AGM-119 Penguin anti-ship missile these helicopters will use.

On arrival in New Zealand the temporary US registration will be removed. Ten of these machines are on order to replace the existing five Seasprites. The first should arrive late this year with all in service by 2016.

Nice to see this.

Though older, the Penguin is still a very decent ASM. A range of 35+ miles and a good sized warhead. It is meant to do a LOT more damage to a larger vessel than a Maverick, for example, or a Hellfire.

Still, the relative short range means that for any larger surface combatant that is targeted, the helicopter is likely to have to get near or come into the anti-air missile zone of the vessel it is attacking.
