Mobile phone recommendations.

I've been a long time Motorola customer, have the whole family on the Moto G 2014. The almost stock Android is clean and the G series designs are good value. Love the concept of the Moto Z and its accessories/modules though it smacks of proprietary incompatibility which is what I dislike about Apple.

I guess my entertainment needs are pretty simple. I stream movies and tv shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime. When I'm on the go, I watch live shows using the Xfinity app on my iPad/iPhone and music in iTune. I also bring my Amazon Fire stick with me so that I can continue watching my Netflix and Amazon prime shows and movies in my hotel room using hotel's tv.

For my basic needs, I actually prefer to have same contents on all my devices because I can keep track of everything easily. So in essence, I have only a single device. That device simply changes sizes depending on where I am at (my 27" iMac in my office and home, my 15" MacBook Pro, my 10" iPad and my 5.5" iPhone). I actually like that.

Yup, it's totally down to personal preference. I've always been a PC guy, so I'm used to managing my own files and having control over what goes where.

The iOS apps were clearly superior a few years ago, which is why I got iPads. These days however, I find that Android has pretty much caught up with iOS in this department. I wouldn't even have considered an Android tablet a couple of years ago, but now if I had to upgrade, I would definitely pick Android over iOS.

I have always been a Mac guy myself. I started out using Macs in high school, but had to switch to PC in college because there was only a few Macs on campus. I was so tired of fighting with others for Mac time. When I started graduate school, I was so happy that my mentor was a Mac guy and the whole lab was equipped with Macs. Have been enjoying the Macs ever since.

I have Huawei P9 and so far it has been working nicely. A lot of people seem to have problems with it's EMUI skin but I don't have million different apps so it hasn't been much of a problem.

It will be interesting to see if these rumors are true and thy go for stock android look.

I've been looking for a replacement phone for my Sony which is also breaking down.I took so long to make up my mind that I missed out on some nicely priced Samsung Note 4 at their clearance sale after the 5 was released. However, I don't like the lack of storage expansion and the non removable battery.that the 4 had. What's more, the 5 was only an incremental improvement on the for and I did not think it was worth the $NZ1299. So I have decided to wait for the Note 7 which is expected to be released in September.

As a stop gap I am using a Chinese made phone a friend brought back from Singapore for me.It's an Oppo F1 and its working fine.
