Of all the major Western leaders, Macron is probably the most charismatic.
Even in this thread you can see that effect.

Anyway, I tend to not focus that much to individual leaders and instead prefer to see things from an overall point of view. Leaving Macron aside, France is a vassal territory of the American Empire. That Macron says a couple of good things and signs some business deals with China doesn't change that fact.

When you say that, that use of language paper overs a real crack that is plainly evident.

Step back for a second, and consider what happened the past few months, and coming months.

Germany. Netherlands. Spain. France. Italy. And Xi Jinping made a trip to Russia.

All the important countries of Western Europe all coming to China for a state visit. Whereas China refuses to discuss anything with those damn Biden people.

That is a real crack, that if the Americans are not careful with, it will open up real wide real quick.

To say they are vassals is to ignore this crack.

The Americans thought they had Saudi Arabia firmly on their side of things being a treaty ally, and the Americans definitely thought their maximum pressure campaign against Iran meant they held the whip hand.

As we have seen, American ideas about their foreign relations, all false.

:D

Commerce officials heading to China to lay groundwork for possible Raimondo trip later this year, sources say

Senior officials from the Department of Commerce will be traveling to Beijing and Shanghai next week as part of an effort to lay groundwork for a potential trip by Secretary Gina Raimondo later this year, according to people familiar with the planning.
Elizabeth Economy, a senior advisor to the secretary on China issues, and Scott Tatlock, the deputy assistant secretary for China and Mongolia, will assess whether such a meeting between Raimondo and her Chinese counterparts would produce results to justify the visit.
But the optics of a potential visit by Raimondo — the former governor of Rhode Island whose political ambitions are said not to end with the Commerce job — could be fraught with risk if the visit produces no deliverables, according to the people familiar with the planning. After a recent visit by French President Emmanuel Macron, for instance, Beijing agreed to deliver 160 Airbus planes, and Airbus agreed to double its production in the country.
Specifically mentioning Airbus here can only mean that Boeing is at least partly behind this planned visit

Yeah, but it sends a very bad message to your citizens when you decide to travel abroad when the country is on fire and on strike constantly. Its like taking Scott Morrison taking a long vaccation during the bushfires, such actions don't instill confidence in your leadership.
Let's be honest. He doesn't represent France. He represents their business elites.

As for your yet another egregious calculation regarding your assertion that U.S. and EU/white countries combined share of GDP of 55% is just flat out wrong.

As of 2021, both together (U.S. and EU) share 42.4% and 30.7% of the entire GLOBAL GDP in nominal and PPP terms respectively. As per projections by IMF in 2021. Source: StatisticsTimes.com comparing United States and European Union by Economy.

Maybe we should ask him to give tips on stocks like the “messiah” Jim Cramer since almost everything he posts is not even remotely accurate. We can all be rich by the end of next week.

Let's be honest. He doesn't represent France. He represents their business elites.

Is there any western leader or high ranking politician who isn’t?

For sure Boeing is applying tons of pressure. That being said, it's just not going to happen. The kind of political, trade, and economic concessions the US would have to give are completely a nonstarter. They simply can't do it. It would be a political surrender they would have to spin as a win.

While it is true that Macron has an independent streak to him (his advocacy for European Strategic autonomy) and a legitmitate beef with the Anglo-saxons (AUKUS nuclear submarine deal) I still would not trust him. When a push comes to shove, he will be forced to side with the U.S. like the rest of Europe. IMO Chinese attempts to make Europe see the light are futile and I don't think China should spend too much energy and resources on it. Europe is simply a lost cause. They have been on their knees for so long that they forgot what standing up feels like.

Take the long view.

It is what Lee Kwan Yui said back in the day when he was still alive.

The Vietnam War was a catalyst for the ASEAN region as they learned how to repair ships, and with the war, the Americans were everywhere in the region, and spreading some military money here and there. That gave them a good push forward for ASEAN economically speaking.

Back then, there was Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines and Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines, that used to be the largest US bases in the world outside of the US mainland. There was also the deep water port of Cam Ranh Bay, where the US Navy was.

On the map, the US Navy owned the South China Sea most of it back during the Vietnam War.

China was an undeclared enemies to most ASEAN states.

Who has control of the South China Sea today?

What is relationships between ASEAN and China today?

It is the total opposite of 30 years ago. In fact 10 years ago it was already the total opposite. That much in 20 years. To make a long story short.

This happen in my lifetime. It may be surprising in hindsight, but every step of the way, every new event or agreement, paved the road to where we are today.

To say China and France cannot improve relations because they are a vassal, is to close the door to the future of any possibility of change.

To me, I have to raise an objection, because I have feudal mentality, and this is anti-Chinese, it is anti-Confucian.

The I-Ching, aka the Book of Changes, one of the Confucian classics. I don't understand, except one thing. In the very front, it says, the only constant is change.

lol lmao

Hard to make out but the China stuff he’s referring to appears to be in the second photo’s first picture. Just some random stuff about 5G, Jordan, and China

Also RIP to this Lucca guy. Considering he’s posting this on a Minecraft server he is probably like 10
Prepare to cringe when we publicize where "the incident" occurred, and therefore where the images came from, and why.

Update on the Cash App founder stabbing

The CCTV shows after he got stabbed and was bleeding out he went up to the window of a car to beg for help and the car just drives away. A second car was also nearby and drove off after he waved for help, leaving him to bleed to his eventual death

Seems like an average day in SF
