Why would they do that? The current ruling cohort of China (ages 40-55) came of age during the apex of western hegemony and became rich and high status off of riding the coattails of the west (i.e. looting privatized state assets and asset bubbles and parking the money in the west and offshore tax havens).

China will never have self-respect until the country has a violent purge of compradors and would be compradors. Nor will the west stop trying to plunge the country into anarchy and poverty. Peace was never an option.

The ruling elite of China will continue to beg the west to stop humiliating them to no avail. They will continue to "negotiate" (i.e. give concessions) because they still benefit from this system (for now) and because cowardice and submission are ingrained in their mentalities from the circumstances of their upbringing. One can only pray that the younger cohorts who do have some self-respect and confidence take over faster.

It is hard enough for them to hold Manila together, let alone their entire country and certainly the imaginary "We wuzz kangz" empire of sorts. A couple of faulty BrahMos batteries (prone to accidental fire btw) ain't shit against China if that's where their misplaced bravado is coming from.

The reason why China no longer gives time to the Americans other than economics ministers like yellen and trade entities is because the Americans be it blinken, Biden or Sullivan or that negro servant of the arms industry, is because they never honour their commitments. Back then, China was more restrained due to hope of a future Democrat presidency restoring ties.

At that time, 2009, the only Chinese wealthy enough to make points like handing flowers to Google and selling baidu shares were the effete westernised Shanghai types. Now that the rest of China is as wealthy as Shanghai, you’ll be hard pressed to find such cucked behaviour.
