Trump won’t be handcuffed if arrested – Bloomberg

Donald Trump’s status as a former US president will most likely result in him receiving special treatment if he’s charged over allegedly making hush-money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, Bloomberg has reported on Monday.

Former federal prosecutor Temidayo Aganga-Williams explained to the outlet that security considerations in detaining a former head of state “are different here than if he was a private citizen,” and that “he is less likely to be seen as a security threat than a previously unknown defendant.”
Another Bloomberg source, who wished to remain anonymous, suggested that while Trump would be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken, he’s unlikely to be placed in a holding cell or subjected to a so-called perp walk, where he would be handcuffed and marched in front of cameras. Instead, Trump would likely remain in the custody of Secret Service agents assigned to his protection detail, the person claimed.

Guess they are worried about giving Trump a huge political show that would inevitable backfire.

Russia and China look like Canada and the US more and more...

copying the post of @gelgoog

i didn't know that.

China is the world's largest producer of aluminium and titanium metal. China is the world's largest miner of titanium dioxide ore..

If China cut supply of titanium the world price for it would spike and it is highly unlikely the West could replace the supply in the short or medium term. Russia is also trying to get Kazakhstan to join it into a titanium producing countries cartel with little success thus far. If both Russia and China press Kazakhstan into it, they will be forced to comply. A titanium metal (sponge) producers cartel of China with the EEU countries of Russia and Kazakhstan would basically totally dominate the market.

Russia is very rich in resources. If it accepts Yuan for its commodities then Yuan will be backed by both Russia’s resources and China’s productivity. I don’t see the point of US dollar hegemony..

I think it’s a short to mid term thing until the BRICs currency will be formalized. This is just my opinion but I don’t think China is interested in pursuing a reserve currency status like the dollar since it has limitations on monetary policy.

Politico: Ukraine afraid to criticize China. Ukraine has refrained from criticizing China over its close ties with Russia in the hope of attracting future investment from Beijing, Politico has claimed. This stance comes in stark contrast to the angry tirades that Kiev has directed at the likes of Hungary and Germany for their perceived lack of anti-Russian zeal, according to the media outlet.
