Paris rioters, we are with you! 光復巴黎,時代革命!
Apparently impotently chimping out is a defining feature of liberal democracy.
At the end of the day, French will cowardly slink home and accept the new labour reality, as all westerners do.
A fate worse than that of Wu Zixu…

Wtf was this I read:
The Chinese have been opportunists. They have capitalized on the diligent (and mostly thankless) efforts by the United States to bolster Saudi Arabia and to resist Iranian proxy fighters in Yemen, Iraq and Syria. The United States built the road to rapprochement, so to speak, but the Chinese cut the ribbon.
White anglos rewriting history to make themselves looks good; no matter, when they collapse into irrelevance it won’t be their history future generations will read

Why does watching "news" of the US administration always strongly resemble watching a toddler? It's like this is the first time they've realized they're drawing China's payoff matrix this way. Literally discovering in real time the concept that always going maximum mutt may not be the optimal strategy, like it's some great revelation.
That's the bargaining stage isn't it?

This comment is so wrong.

White supremacism is NOT common in Europe. Racism in Europe is not defined around color anymore and it is much milder on average compared to the USA. The problem Europe has is Western dominance is not Western dominance. It is US dominance. The US influence spread unchecked in Europe after WW2 and it is currently so entrenched that countries in the continent don't have a movement space. Multiple generations of bureaucrats were raised in the current environment where Europe acts as an offshoot of pax Americana. Even on a cultural level neoliberal narrative around human rights and democracy is so common that you can't even oppose American narratives in most cases as a politician.

Most people here are aware that Europe isn't the center of the world anymore and are comfortable with this fact. Believe me about this. The problem most people fail to see is the excessive US influence
I used to joke about Canada is the 51st state of the US, UK the 52nd, and Australia the 53rd.

I should add the EU is the 8th self governing territory of the US.

I swear every time I hear this crap about softening of tones and trying to find a middle ground, I am steadily losing what little care or sympathy I have for these people and I am starting to look more and more forward to the day that the USA loses its hegemony and finally crumbles to pieces and with any luck, like all those so called prophesiers, the USA gets put into the same position as those nations that was previously colonized in the past. I mean honesty and righteous seems to no longer exist in the USA (maybe never did) and to be honest really needs an education, probably in a bloody manner, on the seriousness of what human rights represents, what they have done to other nations regards to those same rights and how much it ought to be cherished when it is finally taken from them. I mean have they ever stared in the mirror to perhaps see that it is not China that is the problem, but themselves, I mean China is trying to sue for peace while the USA is going all out for war and yet it is the USA that is good. This is damn bullsh!t it’s not even funny

Why Has Xi Jinping Let His Hair Go Gray?

Jet-black hair has been a requirement of leadership in China since ancient times, but Xi has made an exception for himself as he has consolidated power

Mr. Bell is a professor of political theory at the University of Hong Kong. This essay is adapted from his new book “The Dean of Shandong: Confessions of a Minor Bureaucrat at a Chinese University,” which will be published March 28 by Princeton University Press.

Political norms that influence the highest echelons of Chinese politics often filter down to lower levels of the bureaucracy. From 2017 to 2022, I served as dean of the faculty of political science at Shandong University, a post typically reserved for members of the Chinese Communist Party, given the political sensitivity of the work. I’m not a party member, or even a Chinese citizen; I’m a Canadian, born and bred in Montreal, without any Chinese ancestry. In my department, decisions needed to be approved by a group of leaders, including four vice-deans and three party secretaries. We half-jokingly referred to it as a system of collective leadership.

The author Daniel A. Bell is pretty legit though, at least he can read and write write Chinese. Though it is interesting he only published the piece after leaving Shandong University for University of Hong Kong.

The Nobel Peace Prize? The same one that was awarded to the Dalai Lama and Liu Xiaobo? And Xi Jinping can get one too? It'll punch a big hole in the principles of the Nobel Peace Prize. Which is to further the democrazy, agenda of the White elites.

The moment Xi's name gets nominated, all the usual cartoons will start protesting. They'll be protesting about the familiar stuff. Human rights, Uighurs, Tibetans, HK, Wuhan lab, etc.

If Xi somehow gets nominated. It's more likely a PR trap. They might also nominate Joshua Wong at the same time. Then finally awarding that Nobel Peace Prize to Joshua Wong in the end, in order to humiliate Xi. Naah, just stay away from that stinking turd of a 'peace prize'. Xi has got better things to do.
Can one un-nominate oneself... Lol

The same Shangdong University that forced female Chinese students to sleep with African students?

I do hope Xi has really given up dyeing his hair. Set a precedent for all Chinese to follow. I don't dye mine. There's no shame and it will save a lot of money for the hundreds of millions.
