Pope visiting Kazakhstan, a country not really known for being Catholic and western media decide to focus on China lol. Seriously 70% of that article is on Xi and China. It's not until at the very end I find out why is the Pope going there in the first place, despite being quite old and frail.

Does this belong to China hard power or soft power lol?
I think the news hints that this is no coincidence.

Vatican recognizing PRC might be a good counter to Taiwan Policy Act.
I don't understand. Can you explain?

What I do understand is that the PRC doesn't recognize the Vatican. The Pope quite deeply wants the recognition by the PRC, so he (and by extension the West) can control the Catholics in the country.

The Church uses its true believers to influence many countries; it was probably decisive in getting semi-fascist Jair Bolsonaro elected as president of Brazil. (The Vatican is happy to support the fascists -- it supported Hitler.)

The West would love to have similar influence in the Middle Kingdom, which is why the Reuters article spends so much time on China.

Georgia comments on opening ‘second front’ against Russia

Georgia would consider opening a ‘second front’ against Russia, but only if its people support the idea in a referendum, an MP and head of the leading parliamentary force – the ‘Georgian Dream’ Party – said on Tuesday.

Irakli Kobakhidze was commenting on statements made by some Ukrainian officials in recent months, who had called on Tbilisi to join its fight against Russia.

“We can hold a referendum, a plebiscite on whether people want to open a second front [against Russia] in Georgia or not,” Kobakhidze said, according to the Georgian news Channel 1.

He said Georgians should “make a decision” themselves on whether they agree with officials in Kiev or their own government, which opposes such a move, he added.

You know. The action against Georgia isn’t going to a special military operation where Russia ties their right hand to their left foot.

Why they are pocking the bear so blindly.... they clearly are searching for messing things up for everyones. Are they wishing to get nuked or something ? Are the west is so desperate to mess things up that badly ? Testing and retesting the limits of a nation with tons of nukes is clearly not a good idea at all.

In geopolitics there is no fair or unfair. Its only the strong and the weak.
Russia is showing weakness and now the sharks are circling it, smelling blood in the water
