That is surprising and interesting. China above Belarus and Serbia in terms of friendly countries. I expect China to poll high but not above those two.

Sidenote. I was watching tennis US open and Azarenka from Belarus played Kostyuk from Ukraine. Very cold non handshake from Kostyuk at the end of the match, just held out her racket to tap with racket.

The commentators as usual brought politics into this, saying Kostyuk felt Belarus is too close to Russia. And she participated in fund raising match for Ukraine before the tournament. Did not want Azarenka to play in the fund raiser.
Not surprisingly, Swiatek the polish star player was in it too.

Interestingly Kostyuk will play with Zhang from China in the doubles as her partner.

Few days late but it looks like their exercise is going to be cancelled lol.

@siegecrossbow what are your thoughts?

Reason for Failure: Not greasing the propellor shaft. (Human Error? Lmao)

Results: Significant damage to the starboard shaft. “It’s not working.”

My goodness... a 3 billion pounds warship that doesn't have automated lubrication with redundancy and sensors to monitor the system... that's cutting edge British engineering for you.

Unless they get OPEC, India and China on their side, not going to happen. The US, Canada and Japan are irrelevant since they buy very little from Russia. If Europe could do it on their own, they would already have done it.
This move by G7 oil cartel will backfired as OPEC+RUSSIA+ will have more leverage in controlling the quantity and price in oil markets. China is the dark horse here, being the biggest oil buyer of Suadi, Russia, Iran and Venezuela at mate rates and with money of choice. The expecting Xi visit to Suadi is getting more intriguing.

Delete, joke didn't make sense; I thought it was the Belarusian, not the Ukrainian who was cold.

TLDR: Diversity and Inclusion is essential in destroying the PLAAF.

Department of the Air Force

Diversity should mean that race/gender preference shouldn't be a barrier to entry. If you have two moms or is transgender but is a fantastic combat aircraft pilot, you shouldn't be denied entry on the basis of your gender preference. But the article reads like they are trying to do a race/gender quota, which is dumb.

Hmm. We are heading into dangerous territory. In case Taiwan shoots downs a PLA aircraft, even a drone, the CPC will have to respond in a kinetic way. Some part of me says it is what they are hoping for.

That piece from Reuters is as trolling as it could be. I bet even those gorillas in the western lowland of Africa already know that. There are really two distinct "Taiwan issue" in the real world. The first "Taiwan issue" is that Taiwan is a breakaway province of Chinese sovereign as a result of the last Chinese civil war. The second "Taiwan issue" is a geopolitical struggle in which anti-China entities wage various (symmetric or asymmetric) wars against Chinese interests.

Particularly between US and China, Taiwan is the readily available and the most potent weapon the US can use as long as China is deemed a peer competitor. The "Hong Long issue" is fading away after the house-cleaning in the past two years. The "Xinjiang issue" is live but not very well. Therefore, The "Taiwan issue" is going to be THE ISSUE in global geopolitical fights for the foreseeable future.

From a military perspective, any sentence with both "China" and "Taiwan" in the line is susceptible to be called "trolling". It is not even funny any more.

Comparison of previous studies (2014, 2018, 2019) with the results of the present study: China, Belarus, India, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Iran.

What Germany is good for nowadays except being a perfect American lackey? They are utterly incompetent.
It’s like Germanys ability to fight has died with Hitler. Not that I like the man but heck ever since they lost WW2, well I can’t recall Germany being good with much. They are welcome to try and screw around but if they think they can try that while 8 army bullcrap that humiliated China so deeply and expect to get away with it like Benny Hill, well this time around, not only is Germany on the path of de-industrializing itself to the point of losing is once great manufacturering capabilities to yours truly, but they have a rising shortage of everything and an angry bear that is looking forward to murdering some stupid fool who thought stabbing them in the back is a smart idea when most of the energy in fact comes from them. It’s almost comical when it shouldn’t be funny when all these western nations seem to love poking both China and Russia when they have all the hypersonic weapons and the manufacturer capability to back that up and simply having saintlike levels to restraint. I swear both nations are simply waiting for the USA to make that one fatal move for both nations to finally let loose on the USA and after that, Europe will finally change its tune, pernamently.

Ya, that sounds about right. Tho the military is getting more political these days. So I am more banking towards filling a certain quota. Then again, how strong is the airforce recruitment numbers? If it’s anything like the Army then they are probably going to pick just about anyone to fill the ranks.

EROEI is a policy accounting tool for asking physical costs. There are both physical and nonphysical costs. When a policy analyst or lobbyist uses EROEI the question asked is "what's the difference between physical cost and actual cost?" "What energy source should be sponsored by the government if lower cost is the sole goal?"

EROEI is the wrong measure to use for analysis.

It doesn't take into account how useful the final energy is, when it is converted into the final product or work.

Take petrol for example.

In a vehicle Internal Combustion Engine, a maximum of 40% of the petrol is transformed into motion for the vehicle.
But when used for heating, petrol is 100% efficient.

That is a huge difference which is NOT captured by EROIE
