She's the gift that keeps on giving for her husband's political opponents candidacy to potentially win the South Korean presidency.

Here she was just a month ago offering an "apology" for enhancing a.k.a. lying about her Curriculum vitae. I wonder what's next on her menu she's cooked up for her husband.

Not sure you know what is a conspiracy. It requires two or more people conspiring together. Him not believing the actual figures are accurate is not an allegation that the Turk government actively conspired to publish low figures....

Otherwise, everyone who believes China has more than 300 nukes are all conspiracy theorists....
Reminds me of these layman who were singing in joy that china's economy has collapsed due to Evergrande.. There are to many layman out there nowadays who don't know anything about economy but still talking about it.. Do they even know how much it takes for china to collapse.. As someone who has Phd in economics I cringe when i see that... There are also many so-called guru youtubers talking about dollar collapse for the last 15 years... Nothing can crash world economy outside of a freakish natural disaster such as massive volcano eruption, Comet/asteriod or severe worldwide famine aka climate change enough to crash food production sector.. In order to know about a coming crash you don't look at the stocks or the real state bubbles because all are temporarily and man-made while man-fixable hence you look in other places

Well, we maintained a good economic relationship with China, but because of a stupid economic policy, we are worse off than Australia. We export as much timber and building material around the world and yet we can import building materials from Australia cheaper than locally produced ones. To prove his point an architect designed a luxury home from Australia sourced products, right down to nails and the costing exercise showed that he had saved NZ $400,000 and wages are higher than NZ.

Ehhh... Sorry if I don't get it, but why is that a bad thing if you're already exporting those?

'Pushing their brand on the backs of Ukrainians': Who are the armed Americans operating in the Donbass trenches?

War-hungry armed Americans in combat clothing are glamorizing the conflict

Staccato bursts of gunfire. Silence, darkness, beeping, flash, explosion. Dramatic music. Indistinct yelling. Volleys of artillery in the shadows. Jet fumes. Special forces operating in the dead of night. All put on display in the social media accounts of Forward Observations Group (FOG), which appear to be an uncontrollable oasis of military porn.
“I’m beginning to think you aren’t in Paris?” read a screenshot of a text message the Group shared recently via Instagram stories, where they also happen to be broadcasting their current journey throughout eastern Ukraine.

The conflict, often described as ‘frozen’, between government forces and separatists in the region, known as the Donbass, flared up in 2014, after violent street protests led to the Ukrainian government being overthrown. Kiev sent troops to parts of the Russian-speaking Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which refused to recognize the new regime. The conflict had stalled by March 2015; however, sporadic fighting there has been occurring ever since.
In recent months, Western leaders have been speculating that Moscow, which has been accused of controlling the separatists, is planning an all-out offensive against its neighbor. The allegations are based on the alleged buildup of Russian troops close to the border. The Kremlin has repeatedly denied the accusations.
The US and UK began delivering ‘lethal aid’ to Ukraine last week in an effort to thwart supposed Russian aggression. Almost 100 tons of “lethal aid,” including ammunition intended for “the front line defenders of Ukraine,” were delivered on January 22, the US Embassy in Kiev said.
Given the circumstances, a string of photos from Donbass showing the group of Americans in combat gear holding firearms could not have gone unnoticed. Forward Observations, which apparently consists mostly of former American servicemen, came into the spotlight after Russian military-related social media communities started discussing their e-bravado over being in the conflict zone.
Men with stars and stripes shared pictures of themselves, faces blurred, as they arrived in Severodonetsk. This is where the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces is deployed. It apparently includes ex-fighters from the currently nonexistent infamous volunteer Aidar Battalion, which was staffed by right-wing individuals often

But the funniest thing is, the Americans themselves are filming all this along with Ukrainian soldiers, and then they themselves are uploading it to the internet. It’s either one or the other. Either the Americans treat their presence at Ukrainian positions as a visit to the zoo, or they work for the GRU,” Joker DNR Telegram channel, which is referred to as a ‘Ukrainian military insider’ by the media,

The media also picked up on the claims, with the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, commenting on the matter by saying that Western ‘mercenaries’ are ‘present’ in the war-torn Donbass region, although the intelligence is very ‘cautious’ and nothing has been

Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s invitation to visit Turkey amid Ukraine tensions, the Kremlin said Thursday.
The Russian president will visit Turkey once the pandemic situation and schedules allow it, the Kremlin said.
In an interview broadcast on Wednesday, Erdoğan said Turkey is ready to host the leaders of Russia and Ukraine to "pave the way for re-establishing peace" as tensions between the two countries show little sign of diminishing.
"Turkey wants tensions between Russia and Ukraine to be resolved before they turn into a new crisis," the president stated.
Turkey has been closely following the developments and is in close contact with both Kyiv and Moscow. Erdoğan had said

amid increasing tensions in the region and recently announced plans to visit Ukraine in February to help defuse tensions.

Hahah recall how the media was getting all outraged about china changing the ending of Fight Club? Well the authors just put out his opinion.

"The irony is that the way the Chinese have changed it is they've aligned the ending almost exactly with the ending of the book, as opposed to Fincher's ending, which was the more spectacular visual ending," he said. "So in a way, the Chinese brought the movie back to the book a little bit."

Palahniuk has been bemused by the sudden outcry to the changed ending, given that he's dealt with censorship for decades when it comes Fight Club. "What I find really interesting is that my books are heavily banned throughout the U.S.," he said. "The Texas prison system refuses to carry my books in their libraries. A lot of public schools and most private schools refuse to carry my books. But it's only an issue once China changes the end of a movie? I've been putting up with book banning for a long time.

@KYli posted on this in the movies thread.

The hilarious thing is the Western perception of the "Great Firewall" being a technological wunderwaffe keeping Chinese clueless and ignorant. Yet those comments criticizing censorship are ironically uncensored and proving that the censorship is nothing more than a sieve rather than a wall.

In my opinion, the perception of Chinese censorship actually ironically proves how ignorant most Westerners are. Just from common sense, shouldn't all the tourists and property investors that go to Western countries envy 'freedom' and feel lied to, and therefore never want to go back?
