May be not a breaking news thread stuff, but given teh credentials of the writer which states "I am a senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a major think tank in Washington DC." , posting it here

Though it should not go looking for fights, an opportunity will certainly arise in the volatile Middle East. Perhaps the Taliban will act against foreign nationals still in Afghanistan. Perhaps radical Islamists, now with a safe haven in Afghanistan, will launch some action outside Afghanistan. Perhaps an emboldened Iran will make more attacks on shipping in the Persian Gulf. Whatever the provocation, the Biden administration should not hesitate to whack the offender and whack them hard.

To summarize the story, US is waiting for an opportunity to "whack" some guys in Middle East hard which ranges from Talibans to Iran to send a strong message to "enemies".
Is China ready?

Not breaking news. But Indian media is making a big deal about an Afghan Sikh MP flying to India. That Sikh MP was crying to India to rescue the Hindus and Sikhs from Afghanistan. Check out the most popular comment to the video:

India embraces all religions? According to its CAA, India could rescue Sikhs and Hindus from religious prosecution in Afghanistan. But for the Muslims? Hell no! This is Indian human rights. Its only for selected religions.
