I have been accused of being many things over the years, but it is a first to be implied as a supporter of America .

I am clear eyed on what America is and does, but that does not mean I ascribe to silly cartoonish caricatures of them being the great all corrupting Satan and all their local lackeys and cat paws are just poor little innocent sheep fooled and tricked by the great Satan into sin.

It is pointless trying to have a reasonable discussion with someone who ascribe to such narrow minded absolutes and who makes silly nonsensical assumptions and accusations of others for the grave crime of daring to have a different opinion. You can believe what you like, I have no time for silly internet pissing contests.

Looks like Taliban trying to disperse people near the airport to fulfill their end of the deal with the US.

Honestly at this point the US is completely surrounded and everyone at the airport could be killed if the Taliban so wished it.

Unbelievable. Can you imagine if the Taliban just said screw it lets kill them all and be immortalized in legend even if we end up losing the country again for another two decades. They could kill 5,000 American troops in an hour.

Don't think American forces have ever been in such a vulnerable position, not since the Korean War or WW2. But I don't think the Taliban will want to pull it off. Would have shocked the world though.

You know, Americans aren't going to get along with you because you try so hard to present a 'nuanced' take lmao. The second you say you're Chinese and don't hate your country they are going to do everything they can to devalue you. Patriotism of country isn't about objectivity, it's about love of country and love of people.

If it benefits China to say that Americans look like garbage for living poor little sweet innocents angels at the airport, then that is the truth and the only truth as far as I'm concerned. But as an added benefit, it also looks to be objectively true that most are indeed pretty innocent.

America’s position on Taiwan has always been deliberately vague so as to give US enough leeway to go whichever way it suited US interests at the time.

China will, of course challenge this, and take necessary countermeasures if he doesn’t walk this back. But at the end of the day it doesn’t change anything substantive since this does absolute nothing to alter the hard power reality in terms of balance of power between the Taiwan Strait.
