Well Haiti is actually the largest country ( population wise ) that still have diplomat relation with Taiwan, so how did suspects got into Taiwan's diplomat compound? Or why did they choose to go there might warrant some explanation from somebody.

Yeah, I remembered the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake, some US news channels are screaming about how Chinese S&R teams got there before the Americans, lol.

I can resonated with these youngsters and their angst against income inequality especially the housing affordability issue. Xi understands that very well. That's why China has been cracking down on housing prices and the monopolies even though it is risky and costly. However, I don't think China can afford to offer better welfare at the moment. China simply isn't wealthy enough to give out generous welfare and social services.

Dont drink Xi' kool-aid. He talks a not about "muh housing is not for investment" but when it comes to action its nothing. Shanghai and Shenzhen have spiralled out of control already

The proposed property tax is still being "studied" since ~2005 lol

So delete Xi's nice PR and instead look at this

The home market has remained sort of out of control, the wider the curbs, the more resilient the market becomes"

Lets wait for him to pass the property tax and then listen to his fantasy speeches

In many ways, the curbing of capitalist influences in China would not have been possible without the hostility of the US. This hostility has two effects: first, it severely restricted business opportunities of Chinese corporations in the West, thereby making them much more reliant on the good will of the domestic market. Second, it created a sense of common purpose among the Chinese populace and any perceived attack on or betrayal of Chinese national interests are now seen as intolerable. Chinese consumers can and will exercise collective power to punish businesses that attempt to profit at the expense of the nation.
This is also why competition with the West is very beenficial for China. Before various interests held back reforming the Chinese economy.

But with the US coming for China's throat these interests/lobbying can be ignored in the name of "national security". This is going to be a golden age for Chinese leaders passing various reforms in the country under US pressure

No, the US is beyond help. Its politicians are already in the elites' pocket. For example, the US could easily lower their drugs and prescription costs by allowing collective bargaining with the pharmaceutical companies but nothing is done so Americans end up paying hundreds of billions extra each year for prescription costs alone.

On the other hand, the Chinese government sets up a system to force pharmaceutical companies to compete against each others in order to include in the government funded prescription program which guarantee a big purchase so many drugs prices drop between 60% to 99% which greatly beneficial toward both the Chinese government and Chinese patients.

Same here in NZ, the agency is called Pharmac, most (if not all) prescription drugs are FREE in NZ (I meant NZ govt pay for it)

What does your questions have to do with your comments in the second part? What studies are you referring to?

To answer your questions,

1. Feudalism ended when people were no longer ruled by a feudal system. If you need to ask what is a feudal system then you should open a book.

2. Imperialism begins when a state begins launching military expeditions for the purpose of enriching the Capitalists.
And IMPERIALISM was put into the overdrive when the invention of the new technologies made it possible to sail to the other end of the globe and conquer other people's lands by bigger gunboats and bigger and longer range of cannons! The key technologies to facilitate this massive IMPERIALISM were the invention of the steam engine to make possible ocean sailing. Also the stronger and longer range cannons, better explosives, more automatic firearms were instrumental into propping IMPERIALISM movement!

Prior to these inventions, imperialism was limited to land reaches. Even the largest one in ancient time, Roman Empire had limited reach compared to the British Empire.
