Once a boxer throws kicks, take-downs, joint locks, he is no boxer anymore. That is by definition, MMA. A country that does some socialist/Marxist things but also things that are complete counter to it is not socialist/Marxist. The difference is that unlike MMA, there is no pre-existing definition of China's governmental style.

It doesn't matter whether you call him a boxer or not, the techniques that he's using comes from boxing, not from JKD or TKD.

To expand on your analogy, have you ever heard of a competitive fighter who has no formal training in any school, just learned some moves from watching other people fight, and turned out to be a champion fighter?

Neither have I, because that's not a realistic expectation. Likewise, it's highly unrealistic to believe that China achieved the success it has today just by observing what other countries do. You cannot learn statecraft through simple observation and expect to be wildly successful. Mildly successful? Sure, if your leaders are extremely talented. However, to succeed on an unprecedented scale over three leadership successions and six central committee reorganizations? That takes a solid theoretical foundation to happen.

Poverty alleviate is common sense among ALL countries; but China is more competent. How do you link Marxism with giving ethnic minorities more rights than Hans?

I didn't link it specifically with Marxism, I linked it with CPC history. From its very foundation, the CPC was engaged in poverty alleviation and improving ethnic relations.

That's called moving away from Marxism. If you used to live your life by the bible following every word but now you decide to do some things according to it and others not, because they don't work for you, you are, by definition, less devout to the bible.

That's exactly the point: the CPC doesn't treat Marxism as a religion anymore.

This morning I'm watching the TV talking heads discussing this and the theme seems to be this would not be tolerated if this was said of another race. I grew up hearing people saying negative things and behaviors were instinct of Asians all the time and no one said it was wrong. There was a guy that told me abusing women was the nature of Asian men. The Atlanta spa shooter is a typical mentality of American men looking at Asian women as their personal sexual toys yet they can stereotype Asian men...? I saw news columnist Bari Weiss, staunch defender of Israel, on TV trying to deflect criticism of Israel during another news event regarding Israel, by telling everyone why doesn't everyone pay attention to an evil country like China instead. China had nothing to do with the conversation. Look at Albert Einstein while travelling through China in the 1930s while the country was being occupied and oppressed by the West writing ugly racist things about the Chinese people. His defenders point how he had sympathy for Africans as if that made him not racist. You hear that excuse today where people who obviously hate Asians say, I'm not a racist because I love black people." How does that make them not racist towards Asians? It's because they look at black people as the lowest and if they can love the lowest, they cannot possible hate anyone in between. The people who hold a hierarchy based on race thinks they're not racist. Vilifying people by what they claim is by their nature happens all the time. It's just doing it against only certain people is when people speak out that it's wrong.

If you are born wealthy and all your surroundings are the "peak" of civilisation, a sense of superiority inevitably starts creeping in. Continue that for a 100 years and you can see the results in the US

China now due to their so recent (and sometimes present) history of being in extreme poverty, naturally understands and is sympathetic towards poor people and countries

However, I would bet that in 100 years China would start having a similar superiority complex as the US

Do you remember the rich China in the past talking how foreigners were "barbarians"?

This is a matter which is deeply ingrained in humans unfortunately. Even with the best education, the best "moral" principles, this superiority complex ultimately leads to discrimination. Honestly i cant see how this problem can be fixed, even our subconscious is working like that and we cant change this

Kicking, throwing, ground-game come from boxing?? Those are expressly prohibited in boxing. Development of private sector boosting an unprecedented number of billionaires are expressly anti-socialism.

This analogy doesn't make sense. Fighters are individual people with very limited time so that by the time they develop their new systems, they are usually no longer in their prime and unable to compete. Countries, on the other hand, have as long as they need and endless trial and error. Also, people have the same anatomy so what you can do with it is far more limited than different countries with their unique demographics, ethnic/cultural specialties, and geographical considerations which require much more innovation rather than off-the-shelf knowledge. Whereas your analogy of a fighter making it on his own pits his mind with his limited years against the minds of all the masters in martial arts history, the truth is in reverse as Marx is one man with limited time and China is the one with billions of minds and endless time for trial and error; the situation is reversed.

Even so, all forms start somewhere and someone to invent them. So they might not be modern fighters, but in the ancient times, Chinese kung fu masters used to develop their styles from watching nature (tai chi) and animals (mantis, tiger, crane, snake, monkey, etc...) and win with those forms over opponents who used only what was taught to them. The fact is that China made its own world-beating system that used some thoughts from socialism, some not from socialism and some against socialism.
I didn't link it specifically with Marxism, I linked it with CPC history. From its very foundation, the CPC was engaged in poverty alleviation and improving ethnic relations.
So that's evidence that they are doing things that Marx did not tell them.

Yeah, that's the point; they used to think of Marxism as a bible and now they think of it as something to think about and follow only if it makes sense, and do the opposite of it that makes sense. That trend right there says that the CCP is moving away from Marxism. If you used to follow every word of the Bible strictly and now you do it only when it works for your modern lifestyle and financial situation, are you more or less adherent to the Bible? We just went in a circle.

The question is who actually exercises their beliefs upon the world? It's just like the murder of James Byrd Jr. on a Texas dirt road by three white supremacists back the late 1990s that made national news. I was listening to a radio talk show discussing it and a white female listener called into the station and complained how come Asian racism doesn't get any attention? Maybe because an Asian didn't drag a black man behind a truck only to stop when there were no body parts left to drag? There are people who think Asians are worse than whites when comes to racism yet whites actually do the deed.

I'm not sure where to put this. Since its on my news feed. I'll put it here. I find this news from India rather odd.

the bride died during the wedding, and then the families had a meeting and decide to continue the wedding with the decades bride's sister as the new bride!

Strange custom. What about mourning for you dead daughter? This and dumping bodies in rivers, and drinking and eating cow's piss and dung really made me feel glad I'm ethnic Chinese.

Sorry for non Chinese here you'll have to use goggle translate

UK begins process to join Asia-Pacific trade bloc

Why not? UK correctly recognises that the economic centre is shifting to Asia and it obviously wants to enter a high-quality trade agreement with them (as China also wants as well)

Now I am not expecting many benefits for the UK but it will still give them a seat on the table.

And most importantly, it will manage to stonewall any China attempts to influence the CPTPP.
With Australia, Japan, UK and Vietnam(behind the scenes) working together they will manage to counter a bit of China's power.

This is good news for the UK and even better for the US

I am pretty sure that the US is satisfied on how their lieutenant, UK, has been working so far. Great job!
