Yeah, what's generally known is that because those Arabs states are ran by brutal dictators, they only promote military commanders on their ability to kiss the dictator's ass and nepotism rather than competence because they're afraid of getting overthrown.Based on some of the comments I read either on another military forum or from another social media site, where one of the person who commented stated that when he had the opportunity to talk to an I.D.F. veteran from the 1967 War and the Yom Kippur war at some tank museum, the old veteran who was volunteering was asked what made the I.D.F. so adept in battle against seemingly overwhelming numbers of enemies. The old man responded was that Israel was very lucky that the countries and people they fought were Arabs because if Israel were to have fought any other countries he thought they would have lost the war each and every time. Arabs in his mind and their assessment are nothing but incompetent and their own caste like system in the officer Corps and to the way they trained their forces were mediocre at best and pathetically worst which led to the worst results at the battlefield.
@Crang we're brothers ...LOL respect is due to our seniors and ranks cause they earned it. but between us bro formalities is an understatement. This is not about choosing sides.

That's what makes the situation so messed up. Both sides sees the cost of losing as the death of their people's existence. I mean between the Palestinians and Zionists, not necessarily the surrounding Arab states. The Arabs waged 3 offensive wars in the span of 25 years where any one of those lost by Israel would have meant a 2nd holocaust. Don't be mistaken, if the power differential was reversed in the favor of Arabs, the Arabs would literally slaughter every Jew.
Japan will lose money if they cancel the Olympics, Japan will lose even more money if the Olympics go ahead. Japan will have a disaster on their hand if there's an outbreak at the Olympic village.
Rant incoming... but do share your views, too.
To me this seems a bit of a pointless exercise to be honest. By supporting the Tokyo Olympics China is hoping to coax Japan into supporting the Beijing Games in return, but that doesn't guarantee the US (and the rest of the Quad and Anglosphere for that matter) won't boycott anyway, because since when is the US beholden to anybody's wishes, least of all Japan's?
Frankly what's also pointless is pouring billions into hosting the Games in the current global climate across the political, economic and health spectrums. There's no national pride to be had anymore when even your own citizens are clamouring for the Games to be cancelled already.
China shouldn't even bother with the Winter Olympics either. Since the whole thing has already been politicised anyway, so why endure the eventual embarrassment of playing against absent opponents and winning by default? The smart play would be to postpone the Winter Olympics indefinitely by citing hazards of imported cases (assuming the pandemic persists into Feb, which it very likely will) and then just cancel the thing altogether, as a responsible host should *wink*. Either China cancels it or the IOC does, it makes no difference in the end and it saves everybody the trouble.
China no longer needs the Olympics to feel special, nor does she need to deal with a bunch of cry babies who are never about the "Olympic spirit" to begin with. Just let other countries host the Games all they want, then China gets to come in and grab the golds on their own turf.
What's particularly disheartening is the JP govt's decision to deploy nurses at the Games when they're already over-strained dealing with one state of emergency after another. What's more, these nurses are to be volunteers... they won't even get paid!Japan will lose money if they cancel the Olympics, Japan will lose even more money if the Olympics go ahead. Japan will have a disaster on their hand if there's an outbreak at the Olympic village.
Why would China care, all the Chinese athletics will already be vaccinated. If Japan want to walk into a disaster then by all means go ahead.
The Palestine situation isn’t about survival for Israel. That’s the most pathetic and annoy thing about the Israeli government party line - using history that clearly no longer applies, and have not been a factor for decades to justifying their current choices. Make no mistake, the suffering of the Palestinians is a deliberate choice for the Israeli state.
The reason is that the religious lunatics have taken over the asylum in Israel. They are playing for all the marbles and want to erase all trace of Palestine and Palestinians from Israeli claimed lands.
The tactic is quite simple and clearly effective. The Israelis subject the Palestinians to unbearable oppression, hardship, humiliation and raw suffering until all that pent up misery and rage exploded in new uprisings and wars. And every time Israel gobbles up more Palestinian lands in the name of providing security buffers for the last batch they seized; while reducing more of what the Palestinians have left to rubble.
They have already effectively murdered the two-state solution in its cradle this way, and in a few more decades, Palestine and the Palestinians will be but a memory.
It’s the only way Israel gets to keep all their holy lands and also avoid becoming a minority in their new state.
It seems western values have gone a long way into driving Japan down the drain since really they used to be a foe that could push China up the wall in ww2. Right now, they are scared to death of the prospects of a Chinese invasion (which is not likely no matter what the western media tries to tell people and ultimately deserving due to how Japan has never apologise for what they did) that needs an alliance from multiple western countries to safe guard their nation (which predictably drives Japan further into debt, hence making their future worse and funny enough, weakens Japan even more the they are now). What's particularly disheartening is the JP govt's decision to deploy nurses at the Games when they're already over-strained dealing with one state of emergency after another. What's more, these nurses are to be volunteers... they won't even get paid!
I know the Japanese are culturally stubborn in general, but this obsession with the Olympics is just on another level. It's like all the mainstays of their defining virtues have gone poof. What happened to one's willingness to humbly accept own mistakes; or the impeccable discipline and organisational skills that defined Japanese excellence?
