The concept and present state of Israel is not based on "that" kind of history, it's origin is based on the biblical version of history; the God version. And since most westerners culture are derivative of Jewish roots a.k.a. Judeo-Christian lineage they will readily accept that version as the only legitimate or even legal document for Jewish to have as proof of claim. But the same argument is embarrassingly lost when Chinese historical claims are used when it comes to her dispute in the S.C.S. with competing claimants like the Philippines for example, the island nation who simply didn't exist as an entity/country during the Ming dynasty. The island itself was "founded" by a Portuguese explorer named Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 and "Christened" the island as Felipinas after the King of Spain, Felipe.
The whole international law is absurd since most of these laws were written by these colonial p..s during China's weakest state. There's no consistency when it comes to enforcing, adhering to any of these laws, because in my opinion it's all a joke. The only law that most countries and people respect and adhere to is the law of the jungle. The strong survives, and the strongest carve and make the laws in which the subdued are kowtowed to abide and follow. The rest are simply done for window dressing.
