This is what it is like in Gaza right now for families, when you don’t have a bomb shelter and you’re under intense bombardment from the air, sea and land.
China has largely achieved the two goals in Xinjiang: de-wahhabi, de-jihadi. some easing up may come soon. but trying to appease the West or wishing they run out of excuses is naive.
It is still too soon. This is an extremely dangerous that China is getting into now.
Normally in 5 years, the restrictions would have loosened up but with the situation as it is now, no way. Minimum 10 years are needed.

This is a British mess, just like always. Even in India Pakistan, they hastily divide the lands according to religion before running away. The Brits fool everybody in that region in WW2.
The US is basically the worlds biggest Aushwitz. They couldn't even kill million of natives americans anymore because there is only one million left. The other 100 million "have already been spoken for."
