Oh wow, even as the other four FM are still in China.
See this can't be about SCS or Myanmar right, something else big is happening.
From the article:
But as the US intensified its efforts to further isolate China in the region, Park said South Korea would find it more difficult to maintain a balance between the two powers.
“South Korea’s so-called strategic ambiguity is at the end of [its] life. Sooner or later, the US government will formalise the Quad-type multilateral mechanism and request South Korea to join. South Korea [would have] no choice but to participate.”
^^I agree with his take on the situation, as S.Korea is just some steps below Japan on being a US occupied country.
If China wants to change this then its time for Xi to take some iniative and bring some gifts to the table. IMO, the 1st step would be a N + S.Korea formal peace declaration.
Xi cant expect that S.Korea will always take China into consideration if it is not offered something meaningful. China already used the THAAD situation as a stick, so now time for a carrot.
You dont win friends only by beating them and by sticks, you have to also provide honey and true friendship (actions not words)
