I also think that Scomo’s days are numbered... but the general political landscape of Australia probably won’t change their stance anytime soon, the media is still going on a ‘Australia is winning the trade war campaign’ and the politicians are kind of stuck... plus by all indications India and Australia is very intent to continue their Quad alliance BS, but it’s not just faith in US, India without question is having delusions of being an economic superpower while Australia is more survival with defiance and staking on India, no matter how misguided that might be... I agree that should Biden fail then it going to be a bad time for both India and Australia, so we will have to see how Biden will play the game... the only major concern that I see is that the democrats always use more insidious methods, not just the usual CIA/intelligence BS and much harder to read than the republican’s straight forward actions and rhetoric of human rights blah, blah...
Yeah, but I know that the whole white Australia thing is still quite strong and that anything that challenges this notion is something they don't want to accept but however, this year is going to seriously test whether Australia can bear the fact that in the future, the west is not only on a decline, but it is one that has once been a solid foundation to the point where now it is a house of cards that can be pulled apart should something bad enough occur (i.e. gamestop is just the start). It is going to take a lot of time to get used to the fact that Australia is essentially alone against a super power that should they push the right buttons and if China's kindness as been extended to its limits and if the USA has been brought down via earthquakes, civil war or even an EMP however unlikely that is to occur, well China has so many ways to bringing down a nation without resorting to a DF missile that I can safely say that there is no defense against (not the USA nor Australia have ever been hit by one nor are either willing to try that path out right now) that it is not funny and since Australia's misfortune benefits the rest of the world, well, no one will help Australia until Australia finally grows a brain, something that will rapidly happen when all of there protectors will make it clear that no one will waste a cent to defend them. There media can cry all they want but sooner or later, if the government has to sacrifice something to avoid a super sonic missile to Canberra (after everything that Australia has done so far, they honestly don't sound very brave now that the world knows of Australia's racism problems), well Rupert Murdoch might unfortunately be in a lot of trouble unless he dies from old age first.

Also to note that most of the world would also benefit from the fall of the USA hence I don't see many nations offering to help the USA right now, if anything they will become more of a laughing stock

The guy is delusional if he thinks india can replace China as major buyer of australian exports lol
does he even knows that india has more trade barriers for agricultural imports into the country?

This, I think, is precisely China's intention. Trade brings both economic and geopolitical benefits. China is not getting the second from Australia, therefore China is overpaying for Australian resources. This has to be corrected.

To use coal trade as an example, China is importing Australian coal while Australia is in the Quad to contain China. India is importing Indonesian coal and building up its relation with Indonesia in the process while also being a member of the Quad along with Australia to contain China.

So India gets double the geopolitical benefits while China gets zero. This is unacceptable and China would be stupid to let this continue. A far better alternative for China is to buy coal from Indonesia to get both economic and geopolitical benefits, and let Australia forces/begs India into buying their coal.

So UK just having left the largest trading block in the world that's right by their door step. Is now trying to join one of the smallest and furtherest apart in the world. If this is not a sign of panic, I don't know what is?

Have a feeling they'd be trying to hijack CPTPP and transform it into an anti-China bloc. As chair of the CPTPP, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga should be mindful to consider how the CPTPP is meant to serve as a free trade agreement that maximizes the potential of the Asian industrial train, rather than a political tool that'll inevitably weaken the economic prominence and appeal of the CPTPP (especially given the unlikeliness of the Biden-administration to rejoin TPP). Given the proximity and economics relevance, South Korea and China would be more appealing and sensible candidates to join CPTPP rather than a post-Brexit Great Britain, which also happens to be geographically separated halfway-round the world where members of the CPTPP are. Heck I'd even argue that countries like Indonesia and Thailand... perhaps even the Philippines... have more to offer at this point.

Hi bro, I previously ask @Gatekeeper about the 5Eyes forming a BLOC cause right now its obvious they are one. Of the five only Australia is actively pursuing it because she want to hedge against China. While Canada had The US (Nafta), with the UK leaving EU, the 2 of them want to enlarge it by including Japan and India. It's look all good and dandy but the big question is who is their biggest customer, they all had the same product to sell and they compete with each other.

I always imagine that 2025 will be a breakout year for China, GDP it will equal the US, PPP about twice. technologically it will be self sufficient, So with that in mind who needed whom?

And one more thing, the CPTPP will never materialize without China. The ASEAN is smart enough not to tie their economy to that of Corporate America cause now they have a choice and as a BLOC they choose RCEP because they know China is their future.

Your opinion is needed, A bargain tool? what contribution will UK bring to the table?
Let me have a crack at this one.

1, Scotch
2, Fish and chips, specifically cod from England and potatoes from Northern Ireland
3, black pudding
4, horse meat ‘beef’ lasagnas
5, deep fried mars bars, for those who don’t know, yes it was and is a thing
6, Slimy financial managers
7, overpriced mediocre chocolate
8, builders crack - google it, Baidu might not return the intended result
9, importation of plumbers, doctors and dentists
10, the largest overseas Indian population, think of it what you will... but we are talking about at least 2 quad countries so might help
11, related to 10, authentic Indian cuisine without including India, that must count as some form of plus

That’s all I got for now

Ps - not a serious answer, apart from maybe item 1, for that you might have to wait for @Gatekeeper
