It would, but it's a one shot cannon and it's a gamble when you fire it. If you do this while America's military is still largely intact as it is now, you risk WWIII. If you wait even longer without being sucked into a war, you won't even have to do it; the US would have already conceded Asia to China.

I wrote before, the final years before the Soviet Union fell were America's most restrained years. Even in the face of Soviet provocation and aggression, America remained calm and non-escalatory, not because it was weaker, but because it felt that trading a bright and rising future to a declining rotting rival in a final nuclear showdown was a very bad deal. Best to gently let the dying die rather than honor him with a brilliant final fight while he's still capable. China feels this now. Our economy and technology have overtaken the US and continue to pull ahead. Our military is racing past them in Asia and into the blue seas. They are waning and we are rising; if we all took each other out now, it's a bad deal for us. If we allow them to use their military before it rots away like their economy and society, it's unwise of us.

That kind of relies on the US continuing to be incompetent, no? The present military trajectory also depends on the US calculating that they cannot defeat China right now. Suppose they get their shit together and decide to use their present advantages before China flips the table, what then? This is why I believe locking in a period of uncontested military buildup now while making a conventional military confrontation impossible for the foreseeable future (nuclear confrontation still has China at a decisive disadvantage) would be the best way to address China's most vulnerable time: the present.

This is simple mathematics. If you're weakening and your enemy is getting stronger, you act immediately for the best odds of securing your position. China's future ascension due to industrial scaling means nothing if the US consolidates their power to cripple China tomorrow.

America’s very own Corruption is structural and the only way to save the republic is for a new revolution not dissimilar to how the French had multiple revolutions. They badly need a Mao figure but the current state security apparatus is geared towards assassinating any potential focal points against their power, Charlie Kirk was arguably the most recent candidate for that potential.

The action that you want is going past a point of no return so what do victory conditions look like? How do you want the world to look once alls said and done? When that day comes the world will not be the same any more than 1918 November was any more similar to 1914 January.
