To win the soft power game against the US, China doesn't even need to be great, it just needs to be better than the USA. There's not even a need for its own Hollywood/K-Pop or Anime (though its nice to have) because the US is exceedingly great at self-sabotage and every time it drags its image in the mud, China looks better and better in comparison. The metric to which nations will be expected to measure against will be lowered and lowered i.e. "Do nothing and Win" strategy.
Which is ironic considering that the Israelis want to inflict the horrors of the holocaust on Gaza.
They learned a lot from history. Better to be the ones in a position to inflict it to others than to be the ones it is inflicted upon.
