These two examples are not comparable. Trump is in power for short time with business background facing limitation of already existing electoral politics, demographics and culture. You already observed it with Trump parade.
Iranian have been pursuing this Arabic soft power for long period of time. They have Supreme leader for 50 years. it is very similar to Ottoman Khalifa. which made it permanent appendage to Europe. implementation of Arabic soft power in modern world is super complex and expensive.
