In the West, there is still very little knowledge about Japanese atrocities. Far more people have heard of Kristallnacht than the Rape of Nanjing, even if the former was a flash in the pan by comparison.

The experiments of Unit 731 makes Mengele look like an amateur by comparison. It says something badly of Japan that they still have a shrine where many of the worst war criminals are celebrated. They have also refused to properly make amends with South Korea for their use of enforced sexual slavery ("comfort women").

Unfortunately, I don't see things changing for the better. If you look at the polls, Japan seems to be slowly getting its own MAGA copycats.
Honestly, what China is doing is no different from the US making a bunch of World War 2 movies every year. The Nazis are probably the most common historical enemy portrayed in US movies. The difference is the Germans could care less about it because they've cut all ties with the Nazis.

For Chinese, Imperial Japan is just an easy choice for a villain, similar to the Nazis for Americans, because it's not particularly controversial, either within China or globally. The fact that the Japanese keep taking offense at the portrayal of Imperial Japan in Chinese movies and TV shows, though, says a lot more about them, than it does about China.

It is controversial for weebs though.

Although weebs might be a dying breed as China gets better video games and anime while Japan kinda stagnates. Shows the power of Japan's "soft power".

I honestly don't understand how Christianity equals viture because in this video they turned Charlie Kirk's memorial into a christian conversion rally and advertises merch. For some reason they expect China and Myanmar to accommodate Christians yet they won't respect other religions and demanded that they assimilate into their societies (This applies to both Europe and America).

But for some reason China gets criticized for sinicizing Christanity and Islam despite Europe enacting similar laws like make up your minds already. Christianity is literally no different than the muslim "Sharia" that they villify so much because they have the same values.

I am glad China completly banned all forms of conversion recently because it's ironic that they demanded religious freedom yet won't respect the native culture and buddhism. Last week I had some guy do a conversion sermon in the middle of my university class which is irritating because they're forcing jesus on me despite telling Palestinian Christian that they can go fuck themselves.
Christianity is different from sharia, way different. Both Christianity and Islam have different roots.

TBH sometimes I think people on this forum give too much effort in trying to rebuke Japanese talking points with "neutral logic"...... Japanese have always been fascists. They never changed. (If you have lurked Japanese news sites/twitter/5ch long enough or just know enough about how they love to go to that fucking shrine or talk about intervention in Taiwan reunification, you would know.) They come from a evil position. This people is just that fucking evil. Don't try to reason with them.

Also, Japanese war crimes are far far from just 731 or Nanjing. There are so many massacres.

In my experience with Japanese people, They might be the only country to be sick and stupid enough to try to meddle with AR. I hope they do. So they can finally be crushed and those millions of dead people can rest in peace.

I mean before they westernized, Japan was known in China and Korea as annoying pirate raiders. No different from Mongols.

Difference is Mongols have a track record. Japan funny enough always screwed up the most when it came to the navy. You figure an island nation would have a better navy.
