Signs of a rift or will we be a posting a "wow, that was quick" meme when he caves next week to Trump's demands?

I expect they will cave fast, along with the South Koreans. If either of them toughs it out and fights like they mean it, I will be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it will happen. They're both just too weak.

This is why they're so afraid of TikTok and DeepSeek. They don't have that kind of control over the Chinese as they do in the West. In reality China having independent media sources from them is not surprising but that says how much control they want over everyone else. Before DeepSeek, they were admitting out loud that they didn't want China to develop it's own AI because they wanted the Chinese to use theirs. We never saw Chinese whining that the US was developing its own AI and demanded the US and the West use Chinese AI. Every word has to be monitored and put out in their favor. They paint China is all about censorship because they want to cover-up that they want to have it more. That's how it usually works. Make someone else out to be the villain of something in order to cover it up that they want to or have done it more for themselves.

You know Israel's conflict with Iran didn't end the way they wanted it but look at the propaganda coming out afterwards like Israel won and they accomplished all that they wanted. Look at how the US is taunting that China and Russia are next just because they dropped their bunker busters like they were equivalent to the devastation of using nukes. The fact is Israel's defenses failed and Iranian missiles hit the ground which meant they weren't intercepted by default... the US's most advanced military technology. They don't want people's attention on that. The US and Israel wanted it to end and they couldn't continue to do all they wanted to Iran because the toll psychologically was too much. That's why democracies are weak in that department. The citizens aren't as protected thus are more emotionally affected... and the ones who vote who runs their countries. They had to stop the continued bombardment to stop the political bleeding that got worse everyday that passes. It wasn't because they won and achieved all their goals or else you wouldn't be hearing how Israel is still threatening to go after Iran. They need troops occupying Iran to make sure their nuclear program is dead. They couldn't do that if the war continued because it was a race of wills that democracies tend lose in the long run. It was better to stop than to continue on. Everything after is all propaganda. If the US was molesting Iran at will, why stop when everything was going their way? Why didn't Trump bomb the hell out of Tehran like he threatened Moscow and Beijing? It's because what they said happened didn't happen and they need everyone to believe their spin.

Egypt, China ink 3 financial cooperation agreements
The first memorandum was signed between the Suez Canal Bank, China-Africa TEDA Investment Company, and CIPS Company Limited — the institution responsible for operating China’s Cross-border Interbank Payment System (CIPS). The agreement aims to enhance the use of the Chinese yuan within the China-Egypt Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, facilitating smoother trade and financial transactions between the two countries.

The second was signed between UnionPay International and the Egyptian Banks Company for Technological Advancement (EBC). This agreement aims to strengthen Egypt’s electronic payment infrastructure and enhance the acceptance of UnionPay cards throughout the Egyptian market.

The move is expected to enable UnionPay cardholders to make seamless purchases across electronic point-of-sale (POS) terminals and e-commerce platforms nationwide.
The third MoU saw UnionPay International partner with Egyptian fintech company Paymob to support the expansion of electronic acceptance services for merchants and digital platforms connected to Paymob’s network. This partnership aims to boost financial inclusion and make Egypt more accessible to Chinese consumers and businesses.

The signing of the three memoranda reflects the joint commitment of Egypt and China to deepen their strategic partnership and strengthen financial connectivity.
